A must-try hidden gem in the DMV area. I have been trying to find a good Bao place in DMV area and I didn’t expect to find it accidentally here. The Bao is authentic northern Chinese styles. It’s soft, juicy and delicious! We only had the opportunity to try the scallion pork Baos because the portion is big. We’ll definitely come back to try the other ones! The service was very warm when we were here and the host offered us complimentary corn soup because it was cold outside. I don’t think it’s pricy. They sell Baos in packs of six for twenty dollars when I was there. Honestly those Baos are pretty huge and each pack can feed about two average adults. How is ten dollars per person eating out pricy? I do recommend them to start selling smaller packs, but I mean just take the rest home and reheat using microwave. You’ll still enjoy it.

After reading some positive reviews, I decided to try Baobuddy, and it did not disappoint! Although the owner didn't speak English, a friendly customer assisted me in ordering the pork bun, which was fantastic. The bao skin had the perfect balance—neither too thick nor overly chewy—creating a delightful texture. It was filled with a savory mix of minced pork, Chinese vegetables, and well-balanced seasoning that offered savory and vinegary notes. While I would have loved more pork in the filling, it was still delicious. Plenty of other options are on the menu, and I'm definitely coming back to explore different flavors!

Best bun I’ve had for a while. The owner is very kind to tell us the way to enjoy it with homemade chili oil. The skin of pork scallion buns is nice and fluffy, filling is juicy and flavorful. I only hope we could get it hot. Other than that, 10 out of 10, highly recommended!

I recently visited this establishment for the first time, initially thinking it might be affiliated with a well-known steamed stuffed bun shop in Maryland that my family and I really enjoy.

We purchased three boxes of buns, but were surprised to find that the prices were much higher than those at the Maryland location. Unfortunately, the quality did not reflect the cost. The buns were not well made—there was very little filling inside, leaving a lot of empty space, and the overall presentation felt unrefined.

Given how much more expensive it is compared to the Maryland shop, and the noticeably lower quality, we’ve decided that we won’t be going back. While we understand and appreciate the challenges of running a business, this experience didn’t meet our expectations in terms of taste,...

I have ordered from here for family and friends, and for pre-school kids to share as lunch (so parents wouldn't need to pack lunch).

Taste: All the kids and adults I know who tried the buns really like them. Price: 1 box of the buns costs $20 was enough to share among 4 pre-school kids ($5/kid). Their price seems high but keep in mind they sell in bulk. Also, what's not expensive these days due to inflation? Service: After the owner found out I was buying 1 box of buns for kids, she agreed to make the buns without sesame, offered to pack them individually for each kid. For future orders, she suggested using less salt, adding veggies to make it more healthy, and timing the pickup so the buns would stay warm. I think the owner is a very nice lady, she may just have that "resting...
