I bought a copy of "Joan of Arc" by Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) that I'm enjoying immensely! It's an inspiring true story told by one of my nation's best storytellers. I love Joan of Arc and try to imitate her in my daily life. She was Mark Twain's only real hero because she was the only well documented case of a human being whose actions were free, innocent, and selfless. Joan is the exception to the rule of historical determinism, and as such, her story brings hope into the world. Harper's magazine began publishing a serialized "Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc" in April 1895, about one hundred and twenty six years ago.
