Bare Essentials — Attraction in Chadds Ford Township

Id never been there before and recently lost a fair amount of weight, and had no idea what my bra size was anymore. So I made an appointment for a bra fitting online which was super easy. When I walked in, two staff members looked at each other and said “do you want it?” No, yes, okay I’ll take it.” That should’ve been my first red flag. Referred to as an “it.”

My goal for the bra fitting was two things: find out my actual size and purchase 1-3 bras for everyday wear.

After being rushed into a dressing room and told to remove my shirt, I was measured. They measure you in euro sizes so you literally have no clue what your size is if you want to bra shop outside of their store. Had I known that I’d be tied to shopping there forever I wouldn’t have wasted their time or mine. I also wasn’t prepared for the higher pricing.

I asked the clerk what my size was in American sizes and she didn’t know. She started bringing me in bra after bra without even asking me what my intention behind the appointment was, what my style or color was. The entire ordeal was rushed. Only after I stopped her after she brought me bra #3 (that was super pricey) did I tell her what I was looking for because clearly she was in a hurry.

She brought me in different sizes in literally 4-5 different brands. So apparently even euro sizing isn’t an “exact” science. When I repeatedly told her that each new bra she brought in for me was digging into my chest and under the breasts she stated “that’s the way it’s supposed to be.” NOPE, not in my world. Bye bye.

I’m unsure if the sales reps work off commission but if they do- maybe they should consult the client first before thrusting overpriced bras that don’t fit properly their way. I left extremely disappointed and frustrated because honestly, bra shopping sucks anyway, and this experience just made it terrible.

Despite all that I gave three stars because the store is gorgeous and they have lovely swimsuits that look like they are made of very good quality. Some of the euro bras seemed lovely and made well, but not for me to spend $68- $110 when they didn’t fit well. Unfortunately I don’t plan...

2.5 hours of the most painless, no-pressure shopping there can ever be, with absolute experts in their field. I am utterly amazed at the staff’s professionalism and ability to put at ease even a plus-sized, long-term-undergarment-phobic like me.

The fitting took 60 seconds and then I explained my requirements for every day (no itchy lace plus extreme comfort with enough support to keep my back from hurting), and what I need for a special event dress (support you cannot see; comfort optional).

Dana brought me many different options for both scenarios, which, to the extent I was comfortable with it, she helped me to try on and adjust. Very quickly I became so comfortable that she helped me the whole time. Dana is fabulous but relatively new, and so a wonderful expert verified everything she did. They explained to me the different bra styles and what they do, as well as UK vs US sizing etc. It was a terrific experience.

Ultimately I chose a $56 strapless for the event dress, and for every day, I picked two $99 each Evelyn Bobbie sports-bra variations and a $65 Emoli underwire for the every day occasions when I need to dress less casually.

So. For $317 I got: An expert fitting in a private setting Two hours of un-rushed selection and fit assistance plus education from incredible ladies who both know their stuff and understand the “ick” factor. Two everyday comfort bras that fit well. One “dress a little better” every day bra. One strapless bra for the event dress.

When I was checking out, there was a woman of about 40 at the register next to me who had driven 85 miles for their services. The checkout staff said “yes we have people who come from all over”.

I understand why....

Ok, I visited this store for the first time probably mid to late summer 2018 and fell in love. I was greeted and taken care of by a young lady who sized me and was fully involved in making sure I had the right fit for each style of bra I tried on. I was so impressed with the bra I knew I would return. I have to say this, I was not at all sure, because of how young she was, whether or not I would walk out of there happy, I have a lot that needs taken care of and I was! I have referred other women here who finally received proper fitting for bras and though shocked as I was with the size I ended up being, completely satisfied with an excellent fit! The young girls are very well trained. Don't be offended when they step in and handle you a bit, it's all because they want you to have the best experience ever with what you'll be paying for. The selection is quality and the atmosphere is warm. I LOVE my bras and we were just there again, my neice and I. My neice is a new convert. I might be there again next month, but my neice agreed we'll be making it an annual visit. Do this with your daughter and your girlfriends! These ladies are great!
