My wife and I were excited to bring our 2 year old to the new Cheeky Monkey! Although my complaint isnât about the establishment - but a small rather impactful comment or question one of the employees (or maybe he was the owner or manager not sure) asked.
My wife and I were checking in at the kiosk for about 2 mins. Then we headed to the desk for payment⌠after paying we grabbed our 2 year old in excitement bc she was so happy to be here! While trying to get enter the gate - a large bald guy came out of nowhere and stood in front of the gate - blocking us from going into the entrance gate and was like âdid yâall check in first?â
The duration we were at the kiosk and front desk, I canât imagine him not seeing us prior to that question. Granted we were the only ones checking in. On top of this place being fairly empty at that hour - less than 15 guest.
Although small, It took all excitement. Perhaps, people typically just bypass the front desk and enter? But as mentioned, it was no one else at check in. So if front desk didnât say anything why did he have to stand in front of us like that and question us? By our expressions of confusion - he tried to be friendly but impact had already been done.
Initially, it felt like a vibe of me and my family donât donât belong - but Iâd hate to think that - and didnât have any further problems with any other staff.
As two women (my wife and I) and with a two year old - a large man standing in front of us like a body guard, questioning us like that made me UNCOMFORTABLE.
Imagine your two year old happily running to the gate to have fun and having a man stand in front of her.
This is nothing towards Cheeky Monkey - we have never had a problem before. Just be cautious doing that to people because it was very embarrassing and uncomfortable - and honestly unnecessary. Couldâve asked the front desk if we checked in.
Beside that, my daughter had an amazing time! And this new location is so cool! Hope we have a better...
Read moreIf you have a child under 4 itâs best to get there at opening when no one has arrived yet. It was very pleasant for a hour. There is a toddler area for under 4 and a larger kid area. I had 6 and 7 year old kids nearly knocking my child over in the toddler room. There is zero enforcement by staff or other parents đ . In fact, in another comment Cheeky Monkey stated they âconstantly have staff watching the toddler area and switching through staff monitoringâ which is a false statement. There wasnât a soul around. I know kids will be kids but you canât enjoy a room meant for our smaller kids when the entire time youâre trying to keep an 8 year old out of a ball pit that is meant for a three year old. At one point a group of 6-7 year old boys brought in crates of bananas from the market and started throwing them everywhere and not gently either. I shouldnât have to bark at an 8 year old climbing up a slide that my child is trying to go down or watching them swing the coconut tree so hard it almost whacks my kid in the face.
It was also a bit dirty. Lots of hair clumps in random places and dust. It was nice at opening for the first hour. There are pretty much no healthy options for snacks. Everything is loaded with sugar and you canât bring in outside food or drinks. The staff was friendly. Itâs also got to be at least 78+...
Read moreThe first time we came there were a lot of toys in the playhouse areas, this last time there was food for the kitchen some jumbo lego blocks a mini ice cream cart with none of the pieces to go with it. There was a shopping cart but it wasnât usable because the front set of wheels were missing.
I understand this is a childrenâs place and obviously things will get broken or come up missing etc. but thatâs pretty much the whole purpose of this place is supposed to be an indoor play place for kids you would think that the missing/broken items would be replenished so that the kids actually have items to play with in the playhouse area. I was super upset with the amount of money spent to get in for there not to be much for my toddler to play with.
One of the supervisors was super rude to my six year old and screamed at her telling her she was to big to be in the toddler area but she didnât realize she was in there with me and my 2 year old resulting In her crying because she was embarrassed! She didnât feel comfortable going on the bigger side without her sister and I. She told her she could not play on the computer in that area that has games and coloring on it.
Most likely will not be coming back to this...
