Horrible customer service. We have been several times in the past and enjoyed the food. The last couple times we’ve tried to go, no one will answer the phone, and the online ordering system will not work, so you have to go in to order, which is a hassle. Last time, again you can neither get a hold of a person to place an order nor place an order online. We went into the location and asked what was wrong with the phone and the Internet and they explained when they get busy, they shut down their phones and turn off online orders. Not great, but I guess somewhat understandable. However, there were five guys standing at the front just talking. One was legitimately getting trained, but he was not doing anything at the time we walked in they were all socializing. Since we were in a hurry, I asked how long would it be then to get a pizza Since they’re so busy, they shut down everything. They responded. Oh, we’ll get one for you in 12-15 minutes. Really? You’re so busy you can’t answer phones or take online orders but you can stand around and chat and if I walk in, you can get me 15 minutes? OK, We wait. Only two people came in in the time we waited. After 15 minutes had passed, and our pizza was not ready we walked back in to check on things. The same guys were standing around with the exception of the one guy who is obviously being trained our pizzas were obviously out of the oven already. They cut and boxed them. We left a review on the payment feedback system because there’s no one to call to explain the experience we had since no one answered the phone phones. I received an automated reply, saying they were very concerned about customer service and that they would get back to me and reach out. It has been almost two weeks since then no one ever reached out. I reached out again stating that I was ready to leave my review since I hadn’t heard anything and gave them every opportunity to make it right I got that they stand behind their customer service. And that because they are so busy, they never take online orders for that location. I don’t understand why they have that on their website if they don’t ever take orders online. I understand, turning off phones when you’re busy, but I cannot excuse being told someone will reach out to me regarding my concerns and getting no response back Until almost two weeks later when I reach out again. Only to be told, “we are not dominoes or Pizza Hut” We are not equipped to deal with large volume. I didn’t expect it to be Domino’s or Pizza Hut. I did expect a call back when I was told I would get one without me having to reach back out again. I also don’t understand how phones are turned off when you’ve got multiple employees standing around talking to each other It seems like a lost business opportunity and poor customer service to me. It makes me sad to leave this review. We used...
Read moreYou heard it here first kids! Arizona's biggest media personality (yours truly) went to Ciao Down Pizza Studio on Saturday, and let me tell you something ladies and gentlemen, they do indeed sell pizza here.
First things first for those considering patronizing this venerable establishment, please note that there is no smoking on the premises, even outside. Some people like to smoke expensive cigars and eat pizza at the same time, but you just aren't allowed to do that here. This is disappointing, but rules are rules and being civilized means following them.
Enough chitchat let's talk about these pies! Price to quality ratio is pretty darn good at this place. I paid 12 dollars for a classic pepperoni pizza that was very filling. 12 dollars for a pizza that lasted me two whole meals. That's no bad deal in my opinion.
I bet you are all hungry now so lets review the pizza itself. This pie is avant-garde, yet humble. It is somehow classic and revolutionary at the same time. I think this pizza is a bit of a paradox in the culinary cultural revolution that we are living through. It's the type of pizza to be eaten slowly, not swallowed whole. Take your time to think about the food and observe the evening. Bite into the pizza, but also take a bite of the beautiful desert scenery that engulfs this pleasant little plaza. Put the phone down, relax, have fun, and don't forget that someone out there cares about...
Read moreI want to start by saying how impressed I am by the staff’s ability to remain calm and kind during an unrelenting, high volume service. They kept it together and didn’t let the quality of the pizza or service suffer because of how busy they were, and I respect the hell out of that.
They make neo-Neapolitan style pies, ranging from creative to classic standbys. They even give you the ability to build your own pie. The crust is pillowy, with great chew, structure and gorgeous leoparding. The toppings are high quality, well seasoned, evenly distributed and complement each other well. I will say, don’t sleep on the olives, they have a nice spice to them and even though served chilled still have great texture and flavor.
Definitely come prepared to stand in line, which is a small price to pay for great pie. The wait is more than bearable especially considering they are directly across from one of Tucson’s best tap and bottle shops. Grab a beer, relax and prepare for a wonderful meal made by incredibly talented and...
