Off the Wall just finished two jobs, a wall bed and another stand-alone cabinet. First I will say that the workmanship is excellent. The installers were also excellent. However, there are some issues in the office. I first dealt with Jana during my showroom visit...who is wonderful and one of the main reasons I decided to give 5 stars instead of something less.
The next step was to have someone come out to the house to do the measurements, etc. I had already provided Jana with all the information on what I wanted but this other person wanted me to change things...to their liking and not necessarily to mine. Then I was told there was a dispute on the original price I was provided... that some costs were left out. We went over every line-item that was on Jana's original quote and nothing was missing. Then, this person advised some of the prices were wrong...in fact, one was the base cost of the main unit. OTW provides a very clear base price sheet (and I had a copy of it). Clearly, the base price was fine as well. Jana provided a detailed list and pricing for every item and nothing was missing. There were two items that she tentatively priced and clearly stated she needed to confirm, and then later she did confirm. Nothing in the order changed and everything was clearly listed. Anyway, there is more to this story but I wont keep babbling. I was befuddled and, after talking to Jana again, who told me she would handle the order exclusively from here on out, I decided to continue with the order. The net was that OTWF honored their original price.
Next, the order was not finished in time so they had to reschedule the install. Then, the day before the install, they found out the cabinet shop did not complete the second part of the order...the stand alone cabinet. This is a custom cabinet shop and I understand the reality of trying to coordinate this type of work to a schedule. This is not like ordering some furniture from a catalog and waiting for it to ship to my door. To me, the delays were inconvenient but not the end of the world...and, now that I have the pieces, I feel it was well worth the wait.
At any rate, Jana kept me informed on every step (and stumble) as soon as it happened. Although frustrating at times, her efforts were appreciated and kept me sane. I would definitely go back due to the quality of the work and as long as she was handling my order. ...but the office should...

I always go local if I can. A couple of years ago, overall I was happy with the service. They had to take a few trips to get my order right, but they took care of everything to my satisfaction. A few years later can change a lot. I set up an appointment with Steve to come out and make some plans for my office furniture. Working from two business locations, I have lot of running around to do. I tried calling Off the wall to let them know I was running 5 minutes late. The appointment was for 10:00 AM. I tried calling a dozen times, but no answer.Steve never gave me an alternitve number and the store wasn't open. Banker hours I guess. I arrived five minutes late only to be told he left without even calling me. Fair enough, I figured he was busy and would get back to me. Business is business, I get that. What wasn't right was waiting for a week to get a call back to set up an appointment. Figuring they were busy, I called in to make another appointment. I called and got a hold of Steve, who was nothing but short with me from the start. I apologized for the fact I missed the appointment (if 5 minutes counts), and asked about setting up another time. He was nothing but rude from the start, and finished with hanging up on me. I was shocked this was the same person I originally bought my furniture from. Not being one to leave thing in such a negative manner, I called up, and said I was disappointed about what happened, and that I wanted to straighten things out. I told him I would still love to do business with them, because of my experience in the past, and heres the kicker. I was told " We don't need your business" and then he hung up on me! To clarify, I never raised my voice, spoke out of turn, put him down in any fashion, I never was rude, and even apologized, even though I felt little need to. I am just socked this happened and still disappointed about it. As far as their product, it is custom furniture, and there are not many places like that in Tucson. There stuff is over priced, but the fact that they were a local company got me past that. One thing is for sure weather large or small, corporate or private, customer service is always number one to me, and today, I got anything but that. So long to Off the Wall Furniture.
