I’ve lived in Tucson for a few years now, and every time I have visitors I try to bring them here. First off, the space is whimsical and inviting, with fluffy clouds hanging above and an earthy green-blue all around. The display case of truffles, pastries, and ice cream is like something out of a movie. The chocolate itself is complex and balanced. The packaging itself is art. I particularly enjoy the mesquite white chocolate, the hot chocolate, and any of their truffles. They also have a lovely market stocked with local goods and gifts. The last time I was in there, the person at the counter offered recommendations, asked about my favorite flavors, smiled, waited patiently while I took forever to make my selections, and offered samples! The closest thing to perfect customer service (and genuine kindness) you’ll find.
I find myself having to comment on pricing too often in reviews, mostly in response to others’ low reviews based solely on pricing. To be blunt, costs are high because of failed international economic policy first and foremost. If you’re reading this and cost (as opposed to quality, flavor, experience, or anything else) is of utmost concern to you when deciding where to buy chocolate (or any food, for that matter), this might not be the place for you. If you’re willing and able to spend your money on local, quality goods that go the extra mile (and support our local economy) this spot...
Read moreI was so excited to come here while visiting my parents in Tucson but, unfortunately, I had the worst experience ever.
My boyfriend, who has epilepsy, was accosted verbally by a woman who worked there. She outright refused to serve us because he had a service animal.
This was extremely heartbreaking for me as I grew up down the street. I remember when this used to be a Copenhagen gift store. I've seen many retailers move in and out of this space. I was so excited about a chocolate shop! I wanted to love this place, visit there often and recommend it to all my friends and family.
Now, I feel uncomfortable and excluded here. I've had a disability for my entire life, and watching someone that I love be discriminated against because of their disability just left a bad taste...
Read moreThe Bon Bons are stunning. Visually they are perfection. The price is outrageous for them and the taste is nothing spectacular. Which is pretty sad given how long I’ve been waiting to try this place. Four Bon Bons for almost twenty dollars! The blonde girl who helped us was very sweet and helpful. She is also the only one out of the staff that seemed to be interested in helping customers. I brought a candy bar and cookie up the register to be bought and one of the men walked away and motioned for the young lady to come over and help me. I hope that isn’t the manager or the owner because it’s pretty weak customer service. I’m glad I did go and try the chocolate, though. I think everyone should splurge every once and a while on a special treat but I...
