This is a fantastic tour! I booked online the Bonsai Rock clear kayak guided tour day before. The communication with Clearly Tahoe leading up to the trip was wonderful. Received an email/text confirming your and a text the morning of confirming weather was still all good and explained everything we would need for the short trip.

Met and checked in 15 min before scheduled time. Got outfitted with life vest, a dry bag. We dressed in layers as suggested by the guide, and we’re glad we did. I thought I’d be chilly on the water but for most of the trip I was fine in shorts and t-shirt (beginning of June). In other kayak trips we’ve taken on the east coast we are told we must wear water shoes. Here they had all of us take socks and shoes off before getting on the kayak. Just an FYI.

Once we arrived from the shuttle at Sand Harbor, they loaded us into our kayaks. The trip was a little windy at times but still not a strenuous workout, actually quite a nice relaxing ride with beautiful setting. Russ was a quick witted, friendly young man! He gave us some lots of interesting info about the lake.

As we arrived at Bonsai Rock, he climbed the rock and took individual photos of all the kayakers from high above. He then “air-dropped” the photos to each of us! This was a pleasant surprise to have him capture the beauty and memorable trip for us!

Highly recommend this tour group and Russ to anyone looking for a...

we come here often and have seen the kayaks from the trail. I’ve seen posts on social media and gotten even more interested in being in the water in the kayak!

We came on a Friday, which is always better than a Saturday, found easy Sign up online, We were able to sign our waivers and it saved a lot of time when we got there.

Very nice safe driver Dave checked us in gave us our lifejackets and individual coolers with water and granola bar- Which was an excellent bonus! Not too hard to add that, but it was very much appreciated on the receiving end! After we were all checked in, he drove us down to the beach, Even telling us about different houses along the way.

We were met by Parker who was our tour guide. He Gave us great instructions on how to paddle what to expect, the agenda for the tour. and he even asked individual questions to everybody in the group and found a way to personalize everything, learning each of our names.

We played a trivia game, slow paddle, relaxed and entertaining! Learned some fun facts, took great pictures- that he airdropped (so didn’t cost any more than you already paid). Parker had great stories but he especially found ways to incorporate each of us. Well done Parker!

Clear boats- float and move easily. Not strenuous or stressful. Cool to see below.

We want to come back and do...

A Must-Do in Lake Tahoe!

This was our first time kayaking, and the Clearly Tahoe Bonsai Rock Tour in clear kayaks was an experience we will never forget! From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully planned and incredibly enjoyable.

We were warmly greeted by Brian, who checked us in and provided us with life vests, snacks, water, and even a dry bag for our belongings. He then drove us down to the beach, where we met our amazing tour guide, Gio.

Gio was truly the highlight of the tour—knowledgeable, friendly, and so passionate about the area. He gave us a thorough safety briefing, helped us get into our kayaks, and led us on an unforgettable journey across the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tahoe. The clear bottom kayaks allowed us to see all the way to the lake floor—it was stunning! Gio shared fascinating stories about the lake’s history and even took some incredible photos for us to remember the day.

If you’re considering this tour, definitely ask for Gio when you book. We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Lake Tahoe. It’s truly one of a kind and absolutely worth...
