Cody's Pawn & Jewelry — Attraction in Sarasota

H-O-L-Y M-A-C-K-E-R-A-L!!!! It's a fairly long story, so here goes.....

My boyfriend and I are RN's. Thanks to COVID, we had some scares working in the healthcare industry...I'm sure you can understand why - limited PPE, crazy rules, etc., etc. This led to my boyfriend proposing to me for fear our day to day lives could change at any moment. So all in all, thank you, COVID! 😂😂😂👌

The wedding sets were bought and the size of my boyfriend's ring was WAY off. During this time of quarantine, all the businesses were closed except essential businesses. I went online to begin the search. The long search. Lol!

That's when Rod found me. Of coarse I was hesitant at first because my fiance's ring has a carat worth of diamonds set in the band. (If you think his ring is awesome, you should see mine...) Did some research and found out about the veteran status and that he's a dog lover. That was the final straw. He won me.

Dropped off the ring, had a few minor bumps along the way as far as sizing goes, but picked the ring back up today after only waiting 4 days, and my jaw dropped to the floor. The ring is PERFECT!!!! Not your typical pawn shop-- the owner is welcoming, very friendly, and knowledgeable. I've been stopping by since early 2022 and it's worth a visit, you never know what they'll have. A wide range of things are found within and they typically have a good amount of higher end items in inventory too. He maintains a nice selection of vintage and newer watches (Citizen, Seiko, Rolex, Omega, etc) along with a decent amount of jewelry (he's GIA certified), coins, guitars, collectibles, guns, & ammo. This is one of the more popular pawn shops in town. There seems to be a lot of repeat customers too, which is always a good sign. Be prepared to wait a minute or so if you have any questions or if you are selling. From what I've seen, he tends to pay petty fairly for a lot of things (especially jewelry, watches, guns) and has a clientele that's a bit higher on the socio economic scale then the average pawn shop.
