3 weeks later and I still haven’t gotten that refund. Maybe don’t offer it if you’re not planning on actually providing it. Terrible.
Upon arriving I was greeting by friendly staff. They were very nice and welcoming. They were a bit disorganized with my appointment. I was told over the phone that they could do my hair and nails at the same time, but 20 minutes in to my hair I realized they weren’t going to do my nails at the same time. I advised the lady doing my hair that I also had a nail appointment. Luckily she did my hair very fast and got me over to the nail lady quickly. The lady that did my hair was great, friendly and did a decent job on my hair. My issue is with the nails. The lady that did my nails was really rough with my cuticles. She drew blood from 4 of my fingers because of how rough she was. She kept saying it was because my cuticles “are thin.” But this has never happened to me before and I get manicures often. I didn’t say anything in the moment because I’m really not one to complain. But I did feel a bit uncomfortable and so I started looking around to see if I could spot her license anywhere, I could not. This made me even more uncomfortable but at this point I just wanted her to finish my nails. I did the gel mani on Friday (my birthday on top of everything) so it would last me until Christmas, but I’m very unhappy with how they look because of the cuts and scabs. My cuticles are also starting to crack because of the way she cut them (pulling back hard and basically ripping not really cutting). On the third day, one of the cuticles got really red and swollen and even started to sting a bit, I had to put hydrogen peroxide and neosporin. The fact that I didnt see a license has made me nervous so I’ve been keeping an eye on them. I’m including a picture of the worst of my cuts. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else! Overall, it’s a cute concept and the staff are really nice, but I dont think I’ll be going back or recommending this place to anyone, it’s just...
Read moreI didn't really make it into the salon because when I called with a question about their services I was informed that the Groupon I purchased (less than 12 hours ago) was no longer being accepted. I was going to make an appt. for my birthday and had already scheduled other services (elsewhere) around this tentative mani/pedi. Their website lets you book (awesome) and I saw an open slot that fit my schedule. I was super excited to be spending 2hrs and 20 mins with them but now I am back to the drawing board. They are in a great location near Bird/Ludlam. Their pictures reflect really good work but I think they need guidance in the consumer service department. I don't think it's professional to say 'contact customer support for a refund' just because they have decided they don't want do it anymore. The receptionist apologized and was friendly but that doesn't help the fact that this situation was very much avoidable. What if I had just booked online? Then I would've showed up for my birthday mani/pedi to find my voucher unusable. Why they didn't cancel the promotion with Groupon BEFORE telling guests-I can't say. Why they didn't put up a post on FB informing potential new clients of this business decision-I can't say. Why the website wasn't updated to reflect such a thing-I can't say. What I can say is that as a consumer/service industry snob-I won't be patronizing this establishment. I don't feel assured that they will communicate valuable information to clients in a reasonable manner. If that kind of stuff doesn't bother you though, then they might be worth checking out. It looks like they do...
Read moreI love this place! I went for a blowout and was treated to great and friendly service! The place is so cute and well organized, it definitely has a very relaxed and open vibe. From the girl in the front who welcomed me and offered me a choice of any coffee/drink to my hair stylists, the service I received was perfect! The lovely girl in the front asked me how I would like my latte and my hair stylists was so friendly and caring! She washed my hair so well my blowout lasted longer than any other blowout I have ever had (and I have had many.) She was great at her job and the fact she actually cared makes me want to already go back next time! She even took the extra mile to straighten my little baby hairs which always frizz up in this Miami weather. She spoke to me and was great at her job. You won't be disappointed with your blow our here and I love the concept of coffee and hair. I was hesitant and did not know what to expect, but the concept of being able to kill two birds with one stone (relax with your coffee and get a great blowout) was great! Even the host cared about how I would like my coffee. I will be back and am so glad I found out about this...
