I would give them ZERO stars if I could.

Very shady behavior.

I needed to ship some items I had left in Colombia to my house in the US. They asked me to fill out the normal forms, however the red flag was when they asked that I also provide my full social security number AND if I didn't have one, to use the SS number from a friend or a family member.

I have the exchange where I called them out for this requirement. I asked them to explain why they needed my social security number, and that I didn't feel secure sending information over email. I also told them that suggesting I use someone else's social security number on a form was considered fraud and it's illegal.

They emailed back with a very bogus excuse saying that I didn't actually need to add my SS number since I live in the US. And then they said the most bogus thing ever: they said that regardless, they couldn't send me my package anyway because it "just so happens that the FDA and Customs released new regulations a couple of days ago prohibiting medications and orthodontic devices to be shipped into the US or Canada to anyone that isn't a tourist with a valid tourist visa". I was like "WHAT?" .... So I called DHL to verify the information.

DHL informed me that neither the FDA nor Customs had released any new regulations in recent months. They also confirmed that they don't request social security numbers from anyone when they ship. They request the standard ID/Passport information, but no Social Security Number. They explained that once the package arrives, it will be up to Customs to request that information from me. They suggested that if any forwarder requests that information from anyone, it's best to end the transaction. They said it is suspicious that they would ask customers to submit that information on a regular Word Document over email.

Fedex confirmed the same information. Fedex said that for these type of shipments, they never request anyone's full social security number, and on the occasions that they do, they only the last 4 digits, and it's never requested via email -- they prompt customers to fill out their online secured forms.

Coordinadora never gave a valid reason for requesting such information.

I also asked Coordinadora to send me a link to the recent regulation announcement from the FDA and Customs, since all federal regulations MUST be posted for public knowledge, and Coordinadora gave me the excuse that they couldn't disclose that information because it's internal and that Coordinadora agents only receive the alerts through their supervisors which is untrue. If you call DHL, Fedex, Avianca, Servientrega, they will direct you to where Customs regulations are posted because they HAVE to do this by law.

The Coordinadora Agent gave me this excuse because they got called out for shady behavior and it was easier for them to shake me off by saying "oh, we can't send you your package anymore because of new laws" than to avoid the fact that I was requesting details to fact-check them.

2022 04 22 Correction of my last review.

I have a really back situation, (need to erase the review character exceed).

DIAN (Colombian IRS and Customs) review the price of the stuff and put my order on hold for 24 days. Bureaucracy as a Kafka's nightmare. Need to send personal information and other stuff. Invoices. Order from US$180.67 for DIAN said, no no, the order is US$220.oo. Was a mess. Need to go to a DIAN's web page... and the history continues... as follow:

So, I contacted Coordinadora USA and was oriented via email to contact a person working as a liaison communications with DIAN in the Bogotá Airport from Coordinadora. I really, really said to me: poor guy, what an awful job. This guy was amazing with my comms, he coordinates my actions into the DIAN web page (designed probably during a summer in 1999, you need to guess the hyperlinks because it has bad programming, is like Java from the late 90's). This guy helps me like an angel. I need to be honest with that and said that I was pretty reactive during the beginning of this situation, I notice 2 problems in conflict, one DIAN doesn't trust people, and people usually lie to Coordinadora and to DIAN saying a lot of times that stuff cost less than the real invoice in order to save taxes: that is really bad, really bad. Solution: Please Coordinadora ask people for the invoices for support (mandatory). And DIAN, start to trust in people. Since the beginning I always put real cost of things in the Coordinadora's web page. (Web page with modern web design).

So at the end, DIAN said NO after 15 days of intense reviewing of my USD$180.67 order. I paid Amazon using my credit card Rewards Points (Big mistake for DIAN) and the final summary in the invoice was USD$0.oo and the computer said "NO". (Like in Little Britain TV Series, recommended). I was almost in despair calling the Liaison Staff guy (the angel from Heaven) in Bogotá and he took control over my documents to DIAN and this morning DIAN sends me a mail confirming that I was right since the beginning. (Thanks angel) Today I received the box with a toy for my daughter and spools and tools for my 3D printer. 24 days passed since the order arrived to Coordinadora in Miami.

So there's here some lessons that you can check and adjust. But still I have in my mouth some uncertainty about buying stuff in US and use a courier service to receive it in Colombia. Is not easy to be certain, too much confusion, too much stress. I persist, but that includes a lot of wasting valuable time. Bureaucracy and lies in both ways from the public and the state cost real losses of money and time. So, I see this like walk under thin ice.

Excellent Service!!! Six (6) shipments (including a cellphone), all delivered. Once a dispatch has been created in Miami, delivery to Colombia is within 7 days.

After a horrible experience with 4-72, I began looking for options. I chose Coordinadora USA over others (Servientrega, Pasarex, etc.) primarily because they had a physical facility in Medellin, which is where I wanted to ship my packages. They also offered a comprehensive tracking system which lets you know exactly where your package is at every step of the process.

For those who are complaining:

STOP calling CUSA. Contact them via email instead. They have always responded to my emails within one business day. They provide clear explanations and instructions, where necessary. They are courteous and polite.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Some items cannot be imported into Colombia. Google Colombia's list of import restrictions before you try ship something to Colombia via CUSA.

Always include the original invoice in your shipments (where applicable). The process will stall unless you can provide them with an invoice.

Make sure that the destination address in Colombia is correct. Check and double-check.

PAY all fees in a timely manner. Until you pay for your package, a dispatch cannot move forward in processing.

TRACK and monitor your shipment. Download the "CoordiUSA" app so that you can follow the status of your shipment. You can also track via their website.

I highly recommend this company without doubt or...
