I wanted to take this time to review, what I call the "gems". Often drove by and finally went. Met w/friends after work for an "easy" evening of drinks and appetizers. First impressions were clean, cozy, low lighting (nice ambiance) and the background music shifted from top 40 Latin to all around favorites. We were cheerfully greeted, I liked that. I noticed its spaciousness between the tables, bar areas and the pool tables. People are not on top of each other. Server came very quickly and began to take our drink order, appetizers and we were served shortly after. She brought our waters, while serving our drinks which I imagine is when you really want it anyways, not in the middle of your meal! Ordered the wings with sauce on the side-along with a picada. I thought this would be nice for the 3 of us. My drink of choice, as suggested by our server was a "gem"! Basil, yes it had Basil and not in the margarita fashion. Can't recall the name, its refreshing and packed a kick-on-the-chin LOL. I felt the wings were good and could be contenders with my personal favorites (here locally Miami/Miami Lakes/Hollywood) Nice size, not over cooked or dry and with a good base flavoring. I ordered them as naked w/sauces on the side to savor and experiment each one. Very pleased indeed. Picada was equally delicious. Good meat chunks and the sausage not too salty. Didn't get to play pool, couldn't stay longer. I will most definitely rate this local "gem" a 5 out of 5. This place has been here in Doral for a good while now and I can see why. The ambience, food and service and background music were all in sync. They have the right formula and created magic. Nice meet up for friends or couples, drinks and conversation if you don't want to shoot pool (or are not that good like me) it's still a good choice. Ever wondered what a bar that is run by a bunch of lazy incompetent imbecile’s like? We’ll come on down to Doral billiards if you want to get treated like complete trash. I came here on a Sunday night, around 12 am and asked for a pool table for a party of 4, I was told by the young lady in the front desk that it was a 30 minute wait. Keep in mind when I came, there was a bunch of empty pool tables to the left that were not being used. After waiting 20 minutes, I noticed 2 parties leave, meaning that there was more empty pool tables, minus the 5 pool tables to the left that where already empty when I first came. I then went back to ask the manager Theodore how much longer would we have to wait. He seemed to be annoyed by my question and told me I would have to wait 40 more minutes. When I asked him why couldn’t he just seat us in the empty tables, he completely ignored me and went off to attend another customer. I don’t understand, are you guys trying to make money or loose money. From what I can tell, it wasn’t even close to closing time, and there where plenty of tables for us to sit, the wait time was unnecessary and the impression Theodore and the Server gave off was that they were trying not to dirty any of the tables to the left? Maybe so when closing time came, they would have less pool tables to clean? I honestly don’t understand why they made us wait for so long being that 2 parties had already left, meaning at this point, there were almost 7 tables available. It was ridiculous and lazy on the managers part. Do yourself a favor. Find any other pool bar to go to instead of this place.
