Crunch Fitness Incident – 3/8/2025 Approximately 950am on the dated listed above. My fiancée, (who is a member) and I entered the gym to workout. When I entered, I was greeted by an African American gentleman (I did not get his name but, he looked to be a new employee there as I have been there numerous times as a guest of my fiancée) I signed in on the guest tablet at the guest check-in desk and provided my Florida Driver’s License to him. I proceeded to walk back over to the other service counter where my fiancée was and proceeded into your location. We were in your location approximately an hour and left. I did not exit the location from the front, and it wasn’t until about an hour or so after the fact that when I realized, I did not have my ID on me. We returned to the Big Bend location, and I entered once again. I was greeted by a gentleman name Eric. I explained to him that I was there earlier, and I left my ID. He asked me for my name, and he begins to look. I noticed that he is unable to my Driver’s License. I asked him what was wrong. Eric responds to me by informing me “My apologies, it’s just misplaced, don’t worry it’s not lost." Another gentleman approaches, his name badge says CJ (African American gentleman with his hair in dreadlocks. He looked less than thrilled to assist in the situation, not making eye contact. He looked as though he was bothered. Eric at some point during this interaction asked me if I knew the names of who the counter persons were at the time when I arrived. I said a short, Latino gentleman (no name badge on) and another African American gentleman. I didn’t get his name either. He was already gone by the time I returned but the Latino gentleman, who was finishing his shift was getting ready to leave the location. Please note that he was not the one that assisted me, and I did not have an interaction with him. I had been there over 20 mins, and no one has found my ID. I even asked for CJ and Eric to call the other gentleman who was there in the morning. A 3rd person came over whom was a trainer began to assist in the search to no avail as well. I was and still am beyond frustrated. I left my name and number (I will own up to being extremely upset but staying as calm as I could explaining to them, I need my License. I called in about 30 minutes or so and Eric answered my call. I asked him if there was an update. He responded by say “No” to me. I informed him that now I need to replace my driver’s license because of this. He responds to me by saying “Sir, you can drive without your license.” I then informed Eric that I need to be compensated for a replacement Driver’s License. He hung up the call. I called back, Eric answered the call, and I told him you just hung the call on me (I HEARD THE HANGING UP OF THE PHONE!). His response was a lie to me. He told me “No, our call got disconnected and I was waiting for you to call back. I was already very angered at this point. I asked to speak with a manager. Eric responded by saying “Well I am the acting manager, so you are going to have to wait until Monday to be compensated”. “I am unable to assist and that is outside of my ability”. He then tells me “Look, I really don’t care, and I could truly care less. Take care and have a nice day. He hung up the call on me. After getting spoken to like that, As someone who currently works in the customer service / experience industry for over 30 years, I have never had someone treat or speak to me in that manner. To be as unprofessional as he was made me wonder if her has done this tom other customers and either no one has said anything or no one in management has cared to address his lack of professionalism. Is this someone that you want representing your brand? I was told I can drive without my license by one of your employees (Marc). This is beyond a coaching opportunity. When you say to a customer “I just don’t care, and I could honestly care less.” What does that say about your brand and the quality of people you are hiring? Is this how your representatives...

UPDATE 04/09/2024 Crunch Fitness Riverview, FL continues to play EXTREMELY LOUD music - staff no longer want to be asked to turn it down - I too am tired of asking - so now its just put-up with the 'irritation & agitation'. From the PICTURE 'CHART' BELOW you can see Crunch is pumping out music up to 94dB - way over the 80dB 'LOUD MUSIC' norm. I enjoying working out here; the equipment is good & mostly well maintained. However, I feel like I've joined a very LOUD discotec more than a gym - music should be secondary - a pleasant place to exercise at should be the #1 focus. The music is just TO DARN LOUD!! The reception desk is under an upstairs canopy with no speakers above - so for the young staff to enjoy their LOUD music the paying patrons who are working out in front of the BIG speakers get BLASTED - it's 10/10 'HIGHLY IRRITATING'. Maybe speakers need to be installed above the reception, which will force the staff to control the gym volume for them to pleasantly be able to serve & sign-up new customers. The manager turns the music down when I ask him; maybe only 15%, but some of the young staff look at you with disdain for asking & may turn it down 5% - which is unnoticeable - it's still 9.5/10 irritating. It needs to be turned down from a 9 LOUNDNESS to a 5 or 6 at the most. Secondly 90% of the music is SCREAMING RAP. All ages & ethnic groups attend the gym - it would be refreshing to hear different music EVERY TIME you walk in, catering to ALL, mixing it up evenly for ALL to have a chance to enjoy the music. Since joining from openday day in 2019 (till 2024) I have never heard one Country song (not that I listen to Country, but many do) - is that perhaps because the young staff play what they like, ignoring the diverse likes of the paying patrons. When I visit with my son at his PLANET FITNESS gym, the music is diversely pleasant and at a MUCH lower volume for people to enjoy their workout. 70% of the patrons wear headphones (= a majority) - they too don't want to hear what Crunch plays - sadly they have to blast their headphones to try to 'drown out the din' we're being subjected to. I've asked many patrons what they think of the kind & volume of music being played and 70% of them concur its not their type of music & TOO LOUD. I'm hoping for meaningful change & will update my rating with comments if that ever happens. QUESTION: How important are 'we the patrons' to Crunch Fitness? I really wonder about that! I feel like its 'take it' or 'find another gym' attitude. I would not have needed to write this review if my 'scores of requests' for meaningful softer music had been heeded to. It's unpleasant (& should not be necessary) to have to ask for the same thing over & over at every visit to the gym. This rating could be 4 STARS if the LOUD 'ONE' CHANEL music problem was fixed. It could also be 5 STARS if all the staff were as friendly & welcoming as a few super-star staff members are. It should be mandatory for all staff to read the book 'How to win friends & influence people' - a classic - start with Life Principle #5 - SMILE. Volume info in decibels... 20dB = Whisper 40dB = Quiet library 60 dB = Conversation 80 dB = LOUD music - gym in front of speakers should not exceed this 100 dB = Motor cycle 120 dB = Threshold of pain Source: App 'Sound Meter' app with...

I really enjoyed coming to this gym. Mostly friendly staff and everyone seems to enjoy themselves on their shifts. Recently I cancelled with my personal trainer as I had been working out with him for months and my finances couldn’t cover the charge for training. Once I cancelled, I had about 2-3 sessions that were missed and never reimbursed for (still got charged full amounts when I never actually saw my trainer). I was told I would not be charged again and I watched my trainer submit my documents for the cancellation of services.

The amount due said $0 and was told I would not be charged again and was still owed about 2 more sessions. About two weeks later, I had another charge come out and when I went into crunch to speak to the manager on duty (I did not catch her name), she just simply said I had to reach out to my trainer and that he would have to handle it. She wouldn’t give me any other information and was very dismissive.

I got into contact with my trainer and he said that they can handle it and that he even remembers cancelling and that I shouldn’t have been charged. I called Crunch back and spoke to the same manager who sounded annoyed that I was calling her again and then informed me that she would pass my information along to the supervisors of the trainers.

I spoke with my trainer again about a week later as I had not heard from anyone and he said his supervisors were aware. It has now been two weeks since I brought this issue up. There has been no resolution nor any updates on a refund that I was told by my trainer would be submitted. I was told by the one manager that “due to the holidays the supervisors might not be in,” which I find a bit hard to believe as I also work in customer service and know this time of year is busy for every retail type company.

We are now past the holidays and there still has been no resolution nor any updates as I previously said. I do not believe I’ll ever see that $312 back and it’s unfortunate because again I really enjoyed coming to this gym but at this point the staff doesn’t seem to really care about these types of issues as it impedes on their day.

Customer service at this gym could use a big step and provide better help for clients and more efficient solutions for issues...
