This place is the worst restaurant in riverview, FL and its not even close! There is a sticker on the door that clearly states lobby is open until 11pm. I arrived at 8:26pm this evening to pick up an order. There is a bell, someone has installed outside the door, with a sign that reads something about ring bell for pickup and deliveries if door is locked. I Ring the bell, stand and wait several minutes. I assume maybe the bell isn't working properly so i knock on the door. wait several minutes, nothing again. I notice the door over by the drive thru, so i walk all the way around to the other side and knock on that door(its much closer to the service counter), so i assumed maybe someone would hear/notice me. But again, no acknowledgment at all. Next i walk back around to the main door, and ring the bell a few more times, at this point i've been at the store for about 15mins. I finally see a employee peek from the back, and look at me. But that's it, nothing more. several cars are stacked up in the drive thru at this point, so i walk over to the DRIVE THRU window and tap on it, to see if i can get someone's attention about my order. I get a few employees to look at me, they talk amongst themselves but again not 1 of them bother to talk to me. I go back around the main entrance, ring the bell a few more times, then i see an employee emerge from behind the counter with bags of food, but she's not coming my way, no.... she's walking toward the drive-thru side door to unlock it, and give a car that has been parked their food. This RUDE employee makes eye contact with me again, enters the door, locks it behind her, walks back across the lobby, and disappears behind the counter out of site. At this point, i am trying to keep my composure, iv waisted over 20minutes of my life, the drive-thru is 9 to 11cars long, and a few cars have been parked as well. At this point, i attempt to call the ph# on google maps associated with this store. And, yep you guessed it. Straight to a robot, saying this store is " tite" and leave the store number and the store phone number and a message. I ring the bell a few more times for my own entertainment, and to my surprise a different employee FINALLY talks to me, from behind the counter, and across the lobby and she yells... " YOU GONNA HAVE TO HIT THE DRIVE THRU, WE CLOSED"!!! So Good luck with whomever owns this establishment, because whomever you have running it, is running it STRAIGHT into the ground with the complete disrespect and lack of customer acknowledgement!! let alone " SERVICE" I wish there was a way to give the review ZERO stars. Our entire family will NEVER eat at another Popeye's again, and will advise anyone we know to do the same! We never even got to eat any food. This afternoon, we ordered multiple meals using the app and when we got to the drive-thru were treated rudely right from the start. At the speaker box, we were never even said 'hello' to before the employee asked us for cash because they are not taking credit cards. I explained that I had made multiple app orders and gave her the order numbers and names on them 3 times before she said that she had them and that everything was good. After then waiting in the drive-thru line for more than 30 minutes, we were told at the window that all their chicken was frozen and they could not give me my food. They never offered a replacement, never apologized, and refused to give me the food I ordered that they did have cooked! The just told me that it was frozen and walked away (both the employee and then the manager). When I asked the manager what she expected me to do because I had already paid for my food, she told me 'to get back on that app and get a refund'. I left the restaurant and called corporate, the first guy was nice enough and offered a refund and apologized. Then the 'general manager' of this Popeye's called me and wanted me to explain again what had happened. After I started explaining and asked her if she was the manager that came to the drive-thru window, she claimed to not be able to hear me and hung up.... twice! So, I called corporate again (wondering how I was going to be refunded if I never gave CC info) and the second guy was not overly interested in making sure I got my refund. He didn't seem to care that I wasted 2 coupons for free chicken sandwiches or that my family didn't get their dinner, he only cared about me being able to give the correct order #s (which I didn't have both of). He said that he hoped they could find the order so that I could have a refund, but it would take 5-7 business days and I MIGHT get an email. Read moreEdited again to add: After reading one of the other reviews, I was reminded of something that I noticed on both visits. During the phone call the first time and while ordering at the drive through today, all you could hear was screaming and very unprofessional, loud talking. In fact, the first night, I had to call twice because when the woman answered the phone the first time, there was so much giggling and yelling, I couldn't hear her, nor she me and she hung up on me. When I phoned back, that is when she gave me the nonsense about closing early.
I decided to try it again since it was on my way home. I ordered the 11 piece special, added a tea and extra gravy. There was no gravy in the potatoes but two small sides. They weren't even half full. I paid $2.29 for EXTRA gravy and didn't even get what would normally be on the potatoes. I live eight miles away. I was already trapped in the line for more than 30 minutes. I am not going back out there. The young lady who waited on me was very nice and professional. It's obvious from my last visit and today that this location has a very serious management problem. You need to get it under control. There are far too many other choices already in that area and many more coming. This is what closes doors! *Picture of empty gravy container...My husband had already gotten some out while I was out of room. He asked what was up with it and then I saw. He said there was less in it than in the one with gravy in it. The one with gravy still in, has not been touched. That is ALL the gravy I got for an additional $2.29
Visit 1: After driving through parking lot, I thought they were closed but I saw "Open Late" sign on drive thru window. There was not a single light on in the parking lot or drive thru marquee. I saw the website said they are open so I called. It was exactly 9 PM. I asked what the hours were. The woman who answered said they are closing early "because business is slow"...BUSINESS IS SLOW BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T TURN ON THE LIGHTS!!! Look at these reviews..This is why good businesses close..You have bad management, you go out...
