Today was the second time I visited this location and I was super happy both times.
TLDR: EXCELLENT ice cream! The girls were nice. No complaints at all.
We moved here from South Carolina last year. There were no Twistee Treats where I lived before so this place is definitely new to us.
The first time I visited with my daughter I got a waffle taco with Reese’s and it was delicious. The waffle taco was just as good as the waffle cone and the ice cream and toppings I got were very good. My 10 yo daughter got a vanilla kiddie cone and she was very happy.
This time: My husband got a Pina Colada waffle cone and I got a Twirl consisting of vanilla ice cream and 2 toppings: brownie and pecan pralines. I was shocked at how big the “kiddie” size Twirl was. It was about 12 oz, when I was expecting maybe 6 oz.
For my Twirl: I LOVE the vanilla ice cream. DQ used to be my favorite until I tried this ice cream. Way better IMO. The brownie was super fresh and delicious (made in house, I think?). The pecan pralines were neat but personally, I would have preferred roasted pecans without the praline coating. (I like a bit less sugar, but I can see many people preferring the pralines.) Next time, I will probably just double the brownie topping because I was extremely happy with that. I couldn’t eat all of my Twirl myself so my husband had to help me. (He wasn’t sad about that. 😁)
My husband’s Pina Colada ice cream was phenomenal. Light and refreshing. The waffle cone was A-MAZ-ING. Apparently, they make them in house! My husband said it is hands down the absolute best waffle cone he has ever had and I agree. There is a subtle almond flavor or something that really makes it special.
I’ll definitely be back and bring family and friends...
Read moreThere were a lot of options to choose from! I thought it was really tasty. The only feedback I have is the cleanliness outside could be kept up better and a bathroom was out of order. Seemed like there were a lot of people working, maybe get an employee to check up on the outside and bathroom cleanliness every hour on the hour and get in a routine of it. Other than that, I thought the ice cream was great, the employees were happy and nice and the location is good.
UPDATE: 9/1/18 Came here tonight and was greeted with a disgusting fowl odor the whole time... is it the bathroom that’s still out of order? SO BAD- made me question even eating here. There was a kid outside cleaning up which is an improvement from last time. Seemed like there were too many people working there. I type this bc There was an employee chatting with some really rude teenagers outside of one of the windows distracting the guy taking our order. They weren’t even there to buy anything they were just there to chat with friends as they had arrived at the same time as us. They were cussing and saying the F word many times while children were around. I would suggest employees not have their rude friends hang around. And please fix that...
Read moreIf I could give NO STARS I definitely without a shadow of a doubt would. When I paid for my order I first didn’t get my receipt back nor was I ever asked for it. The girl who gave me my order didn’t have any gloves on to prevent skin to skin contact or contamination with the food. There wasn’t any CDC guidelines being followed when it comes to that to prevent Covid-19. I received a waffle cone that was broken up. Which made a greater mess. The bottom of the cone was leaking everywhere. Which brings me to the fact that I got 1 napkin per ice cream. By the time I got to my destination it was either milk or just a mess or stickiness everywhere. Definitely not what I paid for when I drove up to get it. I know at the end of the day, we all work for a check. But, have a heart and think about the customer’s money that is being given to this company to succeed. I don’t appreciate the service I was given at all. Twistee Treat, you have to do better. But, at least for me, you’ve lost a...
