I found out about this nail boutique through my esthetician a few months ago. I decided to give them a try after several months of not getting my toes done and having recently tried someone who works from home for my nails. One thing that drew me to them in particular is the sanitation. The lack thereof in conventional shops is the reason I do not patronize them currently. I loved that they do not use traditional pedicure bowls and I can see their tools being sterilized in real time. I really enjoyed my toe tech as she was very pleasant , professional, and attentive. 10 days after my first appointment the gel polish on my toes began to chip. I found this to be very bizarre because I have literally never experienced chipping with gel polish on the TOES. I immediately reached out to the salon and the owner Susan offered me to come back in. Unfortunately due to my work schedule and the distance from the salon I was unable to come in. She was willing to accommodate me by offering me a small discount off of the subsequent appointment. My next appointment came about 3 weeks after and this time I decided to also get my nails done also. I originally booked gel x extensions but upon communicating to my tech that I would be going for a shorter style she suggested the structured gel manicure. I was going to get a French tip but didn’t like the base colors offered as I felt they were too pink/unnatural against my natural nail/skin complexion. This is something I communicated before it was applied. My tech reassured me that it was the artificial lighting emphasizing the warm notes in the base coat and that it would look differently in the natural light. Upon her completing the application, I still felt it was too warm. In an effort to save time I asked for the base coat to be painted over with a simple white. It came out fine but it did have some flaws that I noticed that same day with a few bubbles and a hair stuck in one nail. I honestly didn’t have that much of a problem because I liked how the nails looked overall. A few days later (about 3 days) I noticed one of my thumb nails beginning to chip/peel. I did not have time to call/make a fuss about it or go back into the shop so I waited until today (approximately a week and a half later to stop by and ask if it could be fixed. The other supervisor whose name I’ve forgotten informed me that they had a 7 day policy to fix anything free of charge and that if they were to re-do it it would be at a discounted rate. Having just spent almost $200 the previous week, I asked if it could be applied to a future appointment as I also did not have the time to drive 30 minutes back the next day to get it fixed. She agreed. I had accepted this until I went home and noticed that one of my toe nails had chipped yet again. I’m honestly not sure what the cause is. I don’t engage in hard labor or work much with my hands at all. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time or funds to make weekly/bi-weekly salon visits so I will have to chalk it up. This is a lovely salon and I appreciate their willingness to try and address the issues I expressed but it’s not feasible for me at this time. Especially at this price point. I still think visiting this salon is worth the effort as this was my only issue and your experiences may not...
Read moreUpdate: My response back to the owner: Why would you agree to fix my nails, but book me for a polish change? Why would I want to change polish on broken nails? That doesn't make any sense. There was nothing wrong with the polish. My nails are broken. It would be understandable if 2 of nails broke, but 7 broke. That is a lack of care on your salons end. I take great care of my hands and the polish on them. Its a bit insulting in insinuate I don't. I've had my nails done for much more affordable prices and never had issues. I also have heard 2 different dates now for what is an acceptable time frame to come back in. Is it 3 days or is it 7???
I would recommend anyone else to avoid coming here & save yourself money and the headache!
I've very sad to have to write this review, however I reached out to have my situation fixed and it just was not.
This place is definitely more on the boujee side. The ambiance and vibe is awesome. Their pedicures are amazing. I knew I was going to be paying a lot, but wanted to treat myself to something nice for my birthday.
Within 24 hours after my manicure both of my thumb nails had broke. I've NEVER had my nails break before. I was surprised, but the breaks were small so I just delt with it. 24 hours later, the right side thumb broke again in 2 spots. Again, I just sucked it up. Then a week later another nail broke, and a week later another one broke and I lookedat my nails and 4 others were on the verge of breaking. I paid $190 for my manicure and pedicure (before tip) so obviously I am feeling really frustrated that almost all of my nails have broke 2 weeks after my appointment when, again, I've NEVER had a nail break.
I called the salon to see if they would do anything and was first met with "we only do repairs within 3 days of your appointment." I tried to explain I wasn't aware of that since I've never had a nail break. The person I spoke to kept saying theres nothing they could do, so I let her know unfortunately I'm going to have to leave a bad review. Then she decided to consult with the manager. She left me on hold for a bit then came back and said the manager agreed to fix my nails but said in the future, they wouldn't be able to do anything past 3 days. I was very thankful and said I understood & appreciated the assistance. We rebooked and was hoping that was the end of my problem.
I show up at my scheduled time and apparently I was booked for a polish change. I spoke to the nail tech and told her that there was nothing wrong with the polish itself. My nails needed to be completely redone since they're mostly all broken. She let me know she wouldn't have time to do that so I told her I understood and left. Very frustrating my time & gas was wasted hoping my nails...
Read moreIn November, me and 6 of my friends were all trying to book here for mani/pedis. I’m not sure what happened, but one of my friends wasn’t added into the services and when we realized there wasn’t any appointments available until that afternoon. We all had to cancel our appointments, but luckily this other salon called The Nest was able to accommodate all of us! We lucked out because it was only within a 24 hour notice I thought they’d be booked out. After that I became a client of The Nest, but they are closed Sunday’s. So, me and my friend from that previous event really wanted our nails done, and we had been wanting to try this place since November because it’s all over TikTok! Luckily we were able to get in. Unfortunately it was a bit of a drive cause I live in Anthem, but I was still so excited to check this place out. When I got there was a homeless person walking around the parking lot (I thought this place was a good part of town, but I’m never near this location so I guess I was wrong) and it was a shopping center across from a dirt lot… The receptionist was nice, but the nail tech doing my nails made some unnecessary comments. I didn’t think much of it, some people just don’t have good customer service, but then my friend mentioned it once we had left. We laughed it off. Another reason, the most important reason: the quality of the service was just not there. I paid $20 extra for gel nails, and when they were curing I didn’t pay attention and didn’t put my thumb all the way into the UV lamp which left my thumb uncured and the gel smudged. She noticed it because she stopped applying the top coat and said “oh your thumb didn’t cure” she had me cure it smudged, didn’t bother to fix it and left it that way. Then she did the polish change on my toes, which came out super cute! But I was charged a gel removal fee… I’ve never been to a salon that charges to remove my polish nor my gel polish when I’m paying to get them painted again. Only removing the polish? That’s a different story, but I paid the fee just thought it was rather odd… Anyway, I wouldn’t come back here, and I really wanted to like it because it’s all over the internet. The location is not the best, the customer service was not up to standards, and the service itself wasn’t great either. Location (when I left there was a different homeless person loitering around the front looking inside the salon) Customer service was not good (and while I was willing to tolerate it throughout my session, I wouldn’t want to put up with it when I’m paying to get a service done) It seems like any other chop shop that doesn’t care about the quality of the service, and just...
