Let me start by saying I never give reviews but I felt I needed to share my experience with this company. To start with the sales rep, Maria, was very nice and easy to work with. We were even understanding when they could not get the glass insert due to supply chain delays; however, we placed our order in March 2021 and just had the door installed on April 8th, 2022. Yes that is not a typo it took over a year! Mind you we had paid half the price already while we waited. When the door was finally ready to be installed in January 2022 we made our final payment in cash or we would be charged a 3% up charge for using a credit card. The day of the install I noticed they drilled the holes for the lock on the wrong side and basically were installing the inside of the door on the outside and we had paid extra to have a special coating on the outside of the door to protect it from the elements. After some arguing back and forth, the owner trying to convince us to accept the door opening to the right instead of the left how we had ordered, etc. they agreed to take the door back, fix it, and give us a “quick turnaround”. One month later in February, they show up with the door and it has white paint smeared on the bottom of the door- our door was a dark mahogany finish. After more talking with the owner he promised he would have it fixed and installed the following week. I had to keep calling to find out what was going on. I also asked several times to have the owner call me to which he never did - very unprofessional. He left his employees to apologize for his unprofessional behavior. Finally he agreed to have my door “made a priority” and would have it ready for final installation at the end of March. Well we were on vacation so that never happened. We finally had the door installed on April 8th, but only after my husband and I went to their office in person. So final thoughts - Buyer Beware, the customer service from this company is non existent and the owner is extremely unprofessional, but if you are in no rush and willing to part with your money while you wait on them - this is the door company for you. Lastly, if I could rate it negative...
Read moreAfter weeks of waiting for a closet door that was promised in one week, when we picked it up and brought it home, it was 3 inches SHORT versus the specs we had requested. The sales agent, Giovanni, had no interest in making it right, nor did the business owner Jorge Toledo. Giovanni put the order in 9 days too late, only after I followed up AFTER he had promised the door. Turns out he dropped the ball and didn’t even bother to put the order in. Then he changed the date to make it look like the order originated on Sept 24 (based on what the receptionist said), but I had paid a deposit for the door 12 days before that. They wouldn’t return calls, and told us to basically pound sand unless we again drove the 1.5 hour round trip out to their office from downtown to drop off their incorrectly measured door. A 79” door is useless when you paid for a 82” door. At first the receptionist said the owner authorized production of a new door and could have it ready by the next day and would confirm later, but nobody called back. When I followed up the next day, they had changed their minds as they weren’t interested in making it right for a customer. Giovanni said he didn’t care and he could sell the 79” door to someone else. They have no honor at this business. Do not use them, but if you have to, pay the extra 3% credit card fee as at least you can take it up with your credit card company when they invariably don’t deliver as promised. I’d give them a zero if I could. Paid tolls and gas and about 12 hours of my time arranging to get a door built, endless phone calls that they don’t return (their voicemail is also always full). Threats of not giving me a refund unless I dropped it off (as they wouldn’t pick it up). Owner was promised to call me back but never did. Like other reviews I’ve read I guess he doesn’t care. Only received one call back after making about 20 calls to them. Don’t waste your time or money. Worst customer service I have ever...
Read moreOn June 2, 2018 we ordered an entry door from Doors Galour Corp. We went back a week later to change the color of the door. When we originally placed the order we were told that it was going to take around 8 weeks with the possibility of an additional 3 weeks because the glass on the transom was a special order. We were fine with that. After 14 weeks I called and was told by Maria that the following week the door was going to be painted and it should take 2 more weeks. I understand that Maria was trying to help me and simply relaying the information she was given. After calling three more times, we decided to go in person, at which time we were told that the glass had to be reordered. We never received a call to advise us of the glass delay, in fact throughout the whole ordeal, we never once received a call with a status update. We paid the door in full the second week of November and the door was installed on November 21, 2018. At that time, there was a part missing and the installation could not be completed. After missing an appointment, they came out the last week of December with the part but unfortunately it was the wrong part. Finally, after having to deal directly with the installer, the door was finished on January 10, 2019, 7 months later. We understand that at the end Abel (a manager) was trying to solve the problem, but it was too late. 12 weeks to 7 months is unacceptable. A reasonable person would expect at a call during that time to advise the customer about the delay and the reason for the delay.
Things happen, but the customer deserves to be informed as those things happen, especially on such a big investment. Communication is key!!
When we started this project I was hoping to be able to write a great review because my company has done business in the past with Doors Galour, but because all of this I can say that this is the worst experience I have ever had with any home contractor or...
