We were really excited to hear that this legendary music venue was in new hands, and would finally be offering high quality cuisine, and YUM, its exceeded our expectations on both of our visits!
Yes, the protein dishes are a little on the pricier side, but you're definitely getting what you pay for, in this case, top shelf, all organic, grass fed, sustainably raised and humanly treated ingredients, worked into expertly crafted dishes. And there is a large selection of dynamic and very well priced vegan offerings as well.
Portions are really large too. On our first visit, my wife and I split the 12oz (medium offering) skirt steak plate, which came with 2 sides + a trip to the soup and salad bar, and we barely finished the meal. It wasn't just a lot of food, it was fantastic food! You can really taste the difference between mediocre meats and what Flynn's brings to the table. We really appreciate a place that doesn't over cook your steak into a piece of leather when you ask for it medium as well, the chef and cooks know what they're doing.
We went up again the other night to try out their $14 burger special. 8oz burger (fresh beef ground in house that day, including the tips and trimmings from premium cuts like ribeys, skirt steak....etc...etc), with fries and soup or salad. And you get to choose all of your toppings; I added the Bacon and Bacon Jam (do it!) along with the standard lettuce tomato and onion. Ot was a truly phenomenal burger! And once again, the portions were large. There is an 8oz and 10oz offering, and the 8oz was big enough that after finishing my soup and burger, I could barely put a dent in my fries, and my wife couldn't finish her burger after the soup and salad. (Sorry for the crappy burger pic... I was half way through chowing down before I thought to snap a quick photo 😂)
Well definitely be heading back to Flynn's for not only great food, but also great music! (And maybe seafood next time. The clam dish out friend got...
Read moreAmazing venue with a great vibe of local/semi-intimate - really felt connected to the artists and "togetherness" with the crowd! First time here to see Cut Chemist, from the outside doesn't look like much is happening, but inside the place is buzzing without being too packed! The performers are accessible, you can come up chat, take selfie, whatever - they're in there with you and the rest of the crowd. You can't be too far from stage, but still have tables and chairs in the "backroom" in case you need a breather. Great beverage selection with $8 draft beer and well priced liquor (I didn't try the food - we at across the street at Humble Sea another great place). Only thing I'd say if you're sensitive to smoke it might be an issue - place gets "foggy"...
Read moreFelton Music Hall is one of the best venues in Santa Cruz county! Capacity is a little bit under 300, so it will see very intimate shows here! The sound system was having a couple problems during the show we saw. Beers are $10, so well a little lie by restaurant standards, well priced for a venue. We planned on getting food here, but their food service wasn't up and running. Ended up going to the Mexican restaurant across the street and having a great meal! There was plenty of street parking, although some of the spots no reserved for the nearby stores. Felton is a great destination itself so come in early, get some food, and walk...
