It's student recreation center at Washington University in St Louis. Most students come here to work out, play badminton and for swimming and so on. It's free for students and faculty members. There is fee for alumni at discounted rate. I'm not sure outsiders can work out here. On week days and in the evening, it is usually crowded. Not too spacious. There are a lot of facilities that I have not explored yet. Update as of Feb 11, 2023 - don't take a shower at the gym. No maintenance. Shower stalls without soap and smell like urine. Not good for your health.

Spacious campus gym. Tennis courts just a couple steps outside of the center. It has a big swimming pool, a zen den(surprise!) and two basketball courts.

Very nice rec center. Can definitely get a little crowded during peak hours but the equipment is nice. Also offers numerous classes and programs

Fine if you're lifting weights or using the treadmill. Some of the student staff members are really great, but others are very inattentive (when checking out equipment, one girl asked me several times what I was checking out because she couldn't pause in her conversation with her coworker long enough to hear my response). There's very little equipment that you can check out besides basketballs. About 4 out of 5 of their shuttlecocks are broken, and there aren't enough rackets for all three badminton courts. It's a nice facility but I personally wouldn't spend money to be here if it wasn't so convenient...

After the new complex opening this place is now fantastic. Do yourself a favor and check the place out.

Update 2017-12-26 They have now added more power lifting platforms & many squat racks. I go early in the morning and rarely have to wait for a rack. Naturally if you go during a high volume time there will be some wait time but they keep adding more stuff. Currently doing their Yoga classes and its...
