Nearby Holmes Lounge is pretty, but this room is absolutely exquisite - the most beautiful on campus. These rooms are not normally open to the public, but if you can sneak in here for a peek, it's well worth the experience. This building (January Hall, built 1922) was constructed for WashU's School of Law. Obviously, don't disturb the humming brains in here if you are lucky...
