My wife and I recently had the pleasure of returning to GBV again for our 5 year wedding anniversary for wine tasting on a recent weekend and let me tell you it is still as inviting and beautiful as ever.
I will be brief with my words in regards to my wine tasting experience. The whole process was very intimate and it did not feel like I was at a "wine bar". Simply put this is where you need to be if you love good wine with one on one information from a friendly Sommelier.
My Wife is a wedding coordinator in Orange County so I have been to a ton of wedding venues and you would be hard pressed to find anything like this one. The area where the ceremony takes place has picturesque views all around. The grand entrance for the bride is through a set of double doors and down 5 steps to the 65 foot aisle. It is truly what everyone means when they say "grand entrance". It was defiantly awe inspiring for our guests.
The cocktail area is a covered area below the ceremony area where you guests can mingle and enjoy the tasty hors d'oeuvres while you sneak out to take your romantic photos in the vines. There are also hand painted murals that add just the right amount of details to the area.
The reception/dining area is perfect. Doors on both sides of the dining area so it is a great mix of outdoor/indoor with different view of the outdoor scenery on both sides. The wine is fantastic and in my opinion is some of best in the valley and the food is really top notch.
The owners were always present to ensure that everything went off without a hitch throughout the night. They really do go the distance for every detail and were on top of everything through the entire planning process.
My wife and I toured many of the venues out in Temecula and there was nothing that compared to GBV. They are also closed to the public on your special day. This detail ensures your privacy on your wedding day and no other venue offered that.
Still 5 years later when I speak with our guests they still will mention how our wedding is still the most memorable they have ever attended. Quite...
Read moreOn Sunday May 19, 2019, my wife and I and some friends visited Gershon Bachus winery. Even though the wines were quite good we had a very unpleasant experience. During our tasting, a gentleman came by who knew our wine attendant and they engaged in a side conversation. This person engaged us in conversation and spoke about his wife being involved in politics. After this gentleman left, the GVB attendant began a political conversation with my wife and friends. This discussion evolved to the point whereby the attendant became strident, condescending and argumentative about her political views. My wife became frustrated and left the winery. At this point, I gave the attendant my credit card and asked her to check me out. She continued to discuss her political views with my friend and I again asked her to check me out and she finally did. I've been to many wineries and I've never had this kind of experience. The attendant's job is to pour wines, tell us about the wines and provide some history of the winery not engage customers in a political discussion. The unfortunate thing is that I found the wines to be quite good but my friends and I won't be returning to GBV. What started out out as a pleasant day of wine tasting ended on a...
Read moreWhile vacationing in Newport Beach, we were encouraged to visit the wineries of Temecula. After a 90 drive from our resort, we arrived a winery that we had planned to visit and because of the high winds, we were informed that essentially all of the wineries were without power, to lower the risk of wildfires erupting. As we were turning around to head out toward Old Town, we passed GBV and seeing the ‘Open’ sign, we decided to investigate, even though we saw no cars. We were greeted at the door by Stephanie and she stated that although they didn’t have any power, we were more than welcome to come in and do a tasting and we could have a charcuterie board to snack on. What an incredible experience and place! As luck would have it, we had the place to ourselves and had Stephanie’s full attention as she described the various wine personalities. The pours were generous, and the views of the surrounding vineyards were beautiful!! The prices for such quality reds was very reasonable compared to others that we had read about in the area. Such a pleasant surprise and would definitely make it a point to...
