I visited this location on yesterday and when I tell you total chaos, first off there was a homeless lady eating off the hot bar she made herself a cup of chili with her dirty gloves was picking over the food on the hot bar. I told the security guard he must have been familiar with her he went in that direction, then I run in to a family that is letting their kids run around the store and eat fruit from the produce section. I then proceeded to get in line and then the lady tells us that line get in line 14 since the other line had some issues, instead of her getting on a register to help out she got a paper bag in her hand looking confused. So we moved to the other line and then she comes answer pull two people who refused to move to the line I was in when she asked, which meet they were allowed to be waited on before us after they did not move to the next line. So I left my cart full of food and walked out of the store. I spent my money elsewhere. The self check out was wrapped around the side of the florist. Walk past security he having social hour with a young girl in the store sitting on the counter, this is why the store is so messed up and the staff some of them not all act like they don't want be bothered about nothing. They don't wear their name tags cause they so rude and obnoxious, I also notified corporate she seemed like she did'nt care when I called and complained. I was brushed off...If I don't get customer service I will spend my money somewhere else. I don't feel entitled to anything but kind courteous customer service. Some of the employees act like they are forced to work. its always the ones that work in the front of the store, on registers or in customer service, when You go to the deli and seafood its like a different Giant food inside the store that really put out great customer service. They keep cutting up rotten fruit and reselling it to the public take that watermelon and other bad fruit and throw it out, its sour and mushy and out of season ray Charles can see that. Anyone who comes behind me and write a review giving 5 stars...
Read moreI won't bother ever stepping foot in this store again after the unbelievable experience I endured tonight where the security guard and some other dude wearing a Wu-Tang Clan shirt posing as a guard unnecessarily stopped and aggressively confronted me for no reason as I was trying to peacefully exit the store with bags that didn't contain any stolen food from this store despite using store etiquette from when I walked in, in which I always do by placing the bags in a cart since I don't have a car to put them in as I'm shopping in which I always do. But these 2 individuals are so miserable and need someone such as myself who is a fellow black man just like them to blame something on. As the guy wearing a Wu-Tang shirt first confronted me, he tried to bully me by snatching my cart away with the bags of my belongings that again didn't contain any food and shouted at me "Do I have a receipt!!!!". I responded "No there's nothing in there" and he proceeded to scream at me some more saying "Open the backpack" and tried to touch my stuff including my expensive computer. I explained to him "See there's nothing perishable in there". Then the actual security guard wearing his uniform asked me to go through the other bag which had nothing in it but clothes and half eaten pantry food I carry with since I travel and work. They said I was free to go and when I tried to explain to them that I used store etiquette, that didn't matter to them and they gave me dirty looks and laughed at me as I walked outside. I understand in some instances where I was wrong as far as coming inside with the bags, not labeling my bags, putting them at the bottom of the cart, and moving a bit too fast to exit the store. But obviously, they had a goal to humiliate me as a fellow black man just like them and they succeeded enough to where I'm officially done with this store. I don't have any reason to steal and I'm a taxpaying citizen but despite how I dress and carry bags of essentials, I guess it was enough to label...
Read moreI have been shopping at Giant on Rolling Road off of 40 for the past 20 years. I have never seen it as bad as I have in the last few years. Only 2 cashiers are open most of the time while the customers and their carts are way down the isles. It’s already the slowest it’s been as far as checking out then you get people who have to divide their payments up 3 different ways and sometimes that doesn’t even work for them. So now it is taking you even longer to get out of the store. Customer service/management (if that’s what you want to call them) are annoyed if you have a question, have attitudes and just have no customer service skills. You can’t get into the one entrance supposedly because of thief but every time I see a guard/police officer they are usually engrossed in some conversation with staff or on their phones. Wonder why people are stealing and not getting caught? People in produce are nice and always offer help. There is one gentleman whom I try to get in his line. (Sorry I can’t think of his name, but told me he is training to be promoted. Fast on the register, fastest I ever seen. But so mannerly, helpful and friendly. Always engages in conversation! Shame they don’t have more people like him, but perhaps others coworkers will inspire to be more like him (apologize for not knowing his name).
My husband and I have decided to go up to the Giant in Ellicott City to do our shopping. Much better experience, don’t have to worry about homeless people bugging you or solicitors and the whole experience is so...
