After this evening, I will no longer be shopping at this store. As a previous employee of a Hallmark for over 7 years, I am very familiar with how the sales and function of the company works both in the franchise and corporate store setting. I went to purchase Christmas ornaments for the year, as I have been doing at this store for the past few years since moving to the area. After looking around for about 15 minutes (without being greeted, asked if I needed help or let alone an "I'll be right with you) and choosing 7 or 8 Keepsake ornaments, I needed help with 3 ornaments that I could not find on the shelf (display was the last one). When I told the employee I couldn't find them, she didn't even try to look for them in a different area or check the stock herself as sometimes items can be in a different area. She quickly told me she couldn't sell me the display. When I questioned why, she went to check with someone in the back. I was told by the 2nd employee that they could not sell me the display until they were out of stock (which they were, they only had the display left). When I pointed out that there's no more on the shelf, I was told, until they hear from Hallmark that they are sold out, they can't sell the display. I showed her the numerous other empty displays that have already been sold and asked why those were sold but the 3 I want, they couldn't sell. She proceeded to show me a tag on one sold display that stated something about it being sold out. However, that tag was not on all of the other empty sold displays. Her reasoning with inconsistent. I was told that they don't know the stock and if they will be getting anymore or not. I would have to wait. I asked why they can't sell the display and IF any more stock even comes in, they can take one out and put it out. I was then told the store manager does not want to do that. I was told I can look online. Phrases like that are why Hallmark stores are disappearing left and right because business isnt the same. I was very put off by the situation and put the over $200 worth of ornaments back. I did not look for the other items I was going to purchase either ( cards and singing snowman) because apparently the employees and Manager's policy is not right. During a time like we are in now, turning down a sale of any kind is astounding. I will be driving farther to another Hallmark store to make my purchase and give my...
Read moreWent here for the first time. When I arrived there was only 1 other customer in the store. Spent about 30 minutes browsing and picking out the gifts I wished to purchase. There are a lot of really nice gift ideas here, way overpriced ( that is if they even have a price tag on the item, several items did not) but nice. In the time I was in the store shopping several people came in. When done shopping I went to the register to check out. There were no employees there. None to be found anywhere. After several minutes I started to lay my items down and leave. An employee finally showed up at that moment. Instead of ringing me up she proceeded to help someone else even though I was in line to check out and this woman was not. I waited patiently as the employee spent 15 minutes helping this woman change information on her rewards account. Then the customer wasn't even ready to check out! The employee then starts to ring me up. All at once the woman who was just being helped comes back up and the employee walks off and leaves me at the register to go and help this woman again. I lay my items down and start to leave the register when the employee returns and finishes ringing me up. The whole check out process took almost 30 minutes! Not only was this employees behavior rude but it was also unprofessional! I was way too nice and patient in regards to all of this. I will NEVER make the mistake of returning to this establishment again! Hallmark needs to hire more employees! They do not appreciate their customers and I refuse to spend anymore of my...
Read moreI went to return an item that I purchased at the premier event at Amy’s Hallmark. I had a bad experience at the premiere event and this convinced me that I will never go back there again. The clerks don’t know their job. After about 20 minutes, the clerk did not want to give me the entire refund because I used several coupons on my original visit. She was very condescending. I then took offense. She was trying to give me less of a refund and berated me for using my gold crown rewards coupons! That meant that I spent lots of money at Hallmark for having the amount of coupons that I used! Clearly she didn’t appreciate that I was a good customer. Between the July and October premiere events I spent about $2,500. I know more about Hallmark products then these clerks. Mary didn’t even know how to do a return on her register and was too inept to ask for help! My daughter who was with me couldn’t understand what was taking so long to return one item. Mary made another comment and my daughter asked for the store manager. We finally got my refund and left. I used to love the premiere events but my Hallmark store closed and this is the only one in town. I will be buying online in the future or maybe my Hallmark buying days are over! So sad since I...
