I want to put 2 1/2 stars but I can’t so I put 3. My rating is based on the way every game that you can earn tickets, is structured. I brought my seven year-old daughter here on Saturday for her friend‘s birthday party. In a day and age when screens rule and occupy almost everybody’s precious time in our country, let alone others, and knowing how so many kid shows, movies, games and social media videos are designed to be quick, so kids get addicted to the dopamine hits and spikes by continuously switching to a new video every 5 to 10 seconds, it was absolutely frustrating, borderline panic, attack inducing, and disheartening that by the time you realize the card that has the credits you scan to play a game have been registered by the unit, the game has started and has almost already ended! All the non physical/analog games last from 5 seconds to at most 15 seconds. Most games do not have a start button and will randomly start and you have no idea when that is because by the time you realize it, there’s five seconds left on the clock. Every game that has tickets has goals/objective/winning areas that range from one ticket to at most 10 tickets. And then you realize that you don’t get more than one try on so many games that you just scanned your card for. When my daughter went to go pick her prizes she somehow had 650 tickets. Now maybe birthday guest automatically receive a certain amount of tickets as part of the birthday party package. If that’s not the case then I can’t imagine how a child would get any amount of tickets With $20 of credits where they will be able to pick a prize when they’re done playing that will make them feel they received a reward comparable to the amount of time and energy put into all the games they played.
I almost feel that Chuck E. Cheese and other in person attractions with games that have tickets almost have a duty to provide an experience where the child and the parent aren’t constantly wondering if the game is over or how did it end so quickly or wow that was all that was or be stressed because the ticket winning of that game was three tickets according to the number on the mark. Now I was glad they had the short basketball throwing game that children around the age of seven could play and have the power and short distance to throw and make it in basket. Ski ball is of course a welcome game as it’s a classic and you can go at your own pace and there is no rush. She really wanted to play air hockey and every time we went there there was people playing and we were there for almost 3 hours. Get rid of a couple of the digital ticket games and put in another kids air hockey table or two. Adjust the numbers on the games to match the actual number of tickets that the child is winning on each one. Make the game feel like more than a five second grab for credits so that the child will ultimately feel unsatisfied and beg their parents for more credits.
The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. My daughter loves the character Chuck E. Cheese and told me that he’s real and I said, of course he is, and I’m glad she enjoyed that aspect of being there. But with the theme and focus being on games and having fun, Please change up the timing and structure of the digital gaming units. I’m 37 and I grew up playing Nintendo and then super Nintendo then N64 and every modern gaming console since then.
I will not be bringing my daughter back here unless it’s for a birthday party. I don’t remember this specific location being like this when we literally hosted her birthday party about three years ago here.
Other than that, like, I said, the staff and the vibe was good and I like that they added a play area. Reminds me of discovery...
Read moreOnce we arrived at 120pm, we were taken to location of party. Set up was okay. I was asked if I was parent, ans we need to immediately place order of food, because of time. I was rushed into making a decision on how many party participants would be there. ONLY a couple participants had arrived at 1:25. I asked if I had a grace period and was told NO I NEEDED TO make a decision NOW. I confirmed my party amount and pizza’s I wanted. I was then told who my planner was, and she would return after order was place to go over how things work. At 1:49 she returned with bands for play and went over pizza, and bands, chucke coming out and cake and ice cream. Kids played for 5mins before food arrived. Another hostess had to get our drinks, we served our own food while other hostess Served their sections. We had to refill our own pitchers each time. The hostess never returned and asked if anything was OK or if anything else is needed. Our only indication to when we need it to return to table was over loudspeaker, when the hostess did return she rudely said “it’s cake time set it up, put your candle on the cake, so I can light it.” We weren’t asked what kind of ice cream we wanted just given a tray of 12 minus the birthday boys ice cream.after cake was finished table was covered with trash and we couldn’t open gifts. At 3:20 I was given the bill while trying to play games with the birthday boy and told I needed to come and do ticket grab or he would miss his opportunity to. I took my child away from his fun to do as instructed while he cried. Party was due to end at 3:30. When we didn’t even get the bands till1:49. Almost 20mins late. I spent over 400$ to be rushed in an experience that was anything but friendly or fun for my child. As I paid the bill I had a problem there also because the system would only accept debit and not take my credit payment after waiting 30mins with the store GM I told him of my experience and he did nothing to apologize or try any make it better! He just accepted my money, and told me enjoy my day!I wasn’t offered a discount on the service or another free pass! NOTHING, just enjoy your day! I will never recommend this place to anyone I know and I will be writing my review publicly so others participants know what to expect. This was a complete waste of money and my child’s birthday that was supposed to be fun...
