Seen this place on Groupon this past week so thought to try it for the first time, but I did not buy the Groupon for it though. It smelled good entering and it looked like a quaint little spot. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. The food wasn’t as pleasant or good though, however, unfortunately. My friend and I left feeling a bit cheated. The 3-way potato (cut baked potato w/ chili, cheese, and sour cream on top for $8) we both got did not look appetizing, but we gave it a chance. The chili looked like bad school food. The color of the chili did not look appealing and it looked like it was sitting all day. No flavor to it either. My son got a couple chili cheese dogs (almost $4/ea). I have never seen such small hot dogs and buns in my life. These were the only size hot dogs they have too. After tasting their food, we understand and can see why they top their dishes with such a crazy amount of shredded cheese, because it’s almost like they are trying to hide the bad looking & tasting chili underneath. It was pretty awkward having to tell the waitress we did not want take out boxes, knowing she can see our bowls were still full with our food. She did not bother asking us if we liked the food or not. My son said he didn’t like the chili, but he liked the hot dogs with just the cheese though. The cook gave him a free Oreo, which was nice. For two 3way potato bowls and two hot dogs (one with chili & cheese & the other w/ just cheese) totaled to around $22-$23, which was such a rip off because the quality and taste of that good was not worth what we paid, especially considering we only ate about a quarter of what was in our bowl. We feel so cheated. I wish I took pictures so y’all could see what I am talking about. Please do not waste your time or money. Our Friday evening out to eat was a total bust. We didn’t even bother trying to go somewhere...
Read moreSkyline Chili originated in Cincinnati, Ohio (Go Buckeyes). Their chili sauce is like no other, and I have never heard a person say they didn’t like it. I have heard many people say that it has a unique taste and they would for sure be back for more. skyline serves spaghetti with your choice of chili sauce, a huge amount of cheddar cheese or just a little bit, diced onions, and beans added or not added. If you’re not in to spaghetti they also have hotdogs with your choice of all the toppings including mustard usually. I suggest the cheese coney and you’ll get a hotdog with mustard, onions, onions and a huge amount of cheddar cheese or just a little bit. Order two of the coneys, an order of shoestring fries, and if you’re not full then maybe order just one more coney. Two coneys too much, then order one coney, an order of fries, and a Greek salad that is not just equal to the best Greek salad you’ve ever had, but better. Skyline has many more items on their menu that are also delicious (I know because I’ve had every menu item more than once). One more thing, I double dog dare you to try Skyline’s hot...
Read moreServer was not friendly, did not acknowledge me, she asked several others if they wanted refills who all stated no, then walked around the floor ignoring me until I told her to excuse me that I was here for an order I placed to which replied "I know, what do want to order?" Again I stated I'm here to pick up am order she walked away and said "it's still being prepared". The cook then finished me out and rung me out and wished me well with excellent customer service and as soon as I left he went back to preparing foods in the kitchen and she rang out the next customer. So it's obvious bias and the obvious bothers me as a born and raised Cincinnatian who graduated from the University of Cincinnati with two degrees. Sad that this business still accepts employment from people who are so bluntly bias and lacking of genuine customer service. Can't wait to get back to my city. Food was delicious and service once I requested it was great by the other employees the older lady waitressing could learn a thing or two from her co workers. Said to think I dare treat a person like that in...
