If you like terrible service, aggressively being yanked around by a nail tech and subpar quality, then this is the place for you. I took my daughter for a special day of mani/pedis and I let them know I wasn’t happy with the manicure. I even stressed that everything with my daughter was fine but that mine didn’t look good. The nails that didn’t have gel all around the edges, were way too far away from my cuticle and look grown out already. Their offer to fix it was to drill around my nail to create the proper edging. That would’ve done two things. Created even more of a gap between polish and cuticle and left a ridge I’d have to grow out for months. I said no drill. They looked confused and didn’t know what to do. I said I’d prefer to just have the manicure removed as a service and I’ll happily pay for the rest. They called a different manager over who was aggressive and accusatory. She acted like I was trying to get things for free when all I wanted was a nice day with my daughter. She said they can soak them and redo them. Number one, I didn’t have another hour to waste and number two, at this point I had zero assurance that the quality would improve. I told her I have a baby at home and I couldn’t stay that long. She said she will only remove the charge if I let them soak them off because I can’t leave there with a “nice manicure on my hands”. Again I offered to pay. I offered at least 6 times to pay for the services that were rendered properly. I kept looking at the clock and saying I have to go I have a baby. She kept arguing and making accusations. I said if you don’t want me to pay that’s fine but I have to go. So I left. A sheriff called me shortly after to tell me she was wanting to press charges against me. It turned into an insane drama all because they won’t offer a quality service the first time. They hope you’re too shy to speak up and then when you do, they try to scare you into paying for a service you didn’t actually get. Sure, I sat down and had someone do something to my nails but it wasn’t a gel manicure worth $40 when the sign on their wall states their nails there are “perfect”. I didn’t even complain to them about the way the woman yanked my arms, made my nails round instead of square, used a high grit file to sand down my nails instead of cutting them which is very damaging, or walked away after she slathered lotion on only one of my arms and left me sitting with no place to rest my arm because there was no towel. The whole experience is low level and they should be ashamed that that standard is good enough to take peoples money. Avoid...
Read moreI have been going to grand nails since they opened and I had various people do my nails which usually turned out ok. The last time I went was about 2 half weeks ago. I went for a pedicure and a full set. I will admit my nails are difficult to do because I have psoriasis however any other time I’ve gotten my nails done I was somewhat satisfied accept this last time. I had two young girls working on me one doing my pedicure the other my nails. The problem that I had with my service the last time is that the girls were talking to each other about my nails as they were doing my service in their native language. They kept there gloves on the entire time even to polish my nails. I don’t have a nail fungus I’ve had nail psoriasis the majority of my life so I know that I couldn’t pass anything on but if they were unaware of what was going on with my nails why not ask instead of talking about me to each other. After the girl finished my nails I had a thumb nail that was crooked and the acrylic was thick and uneven. She then has the nerve to say your nail hard to do you have nail fungus. No girl I don’t my doctor confirmed it’s nail psoriasis but had you asked me this in the beginning then maybe I could have educated you all on what was going on and you would have acted like I had the plague. I will never go back to this salon besides there high prices and mediocre work I will never pay someone for a service and they make me feel like I have the plague that they don’t want to catch. I’m glad they acted that way because I found a better shop across the street that did an excellent job on my nails and they didn’t talk amongst themselves about me or make me feel contagious. My nails look great. The acrylic was even and the shape was perfect. I even asked them to soak off the mess that the girl at Grand nails had put on because I just wanted to start over. The owner looked at my nails and said no need we will fix what they did. This was very honorable and the price was much lower at this shop. I will never pay for disrespect because immature uneducated nail technicians are ignorant to all nail conditions and do...
Read moreStart to finish loved my experience. The salon is absolutely gorgeous. That alone put me right into the state of mind i was looking for when i set out to have a day of self care. They were incredibly busy. They had a lot of techs working and many in the waiting area. Phone was ringing off the hook. A young man offered an appointment for later or I could wait but it would be around 45mins. Great Service is worth the wait and a busy establishment is always a good sign. I was in no hurry and said I don’t mind waiting. I was impressed with the abundance of colors to choose from and how on top of each of their guests they were. A receptionist was assisting the techs and guests helping to place guests with the right tech. The wait wasn’t that long and I was in a pedicure chair. The pedi was extremely relaxing, the massage was wonderful and I felt brand new after. My nail tech put a full set on and did a beautiful job. She checked in with me regularly for length, shape and filing. I am so pleased and can’t wait to be back.
As far as all the negative reviews that all seem to point to chipped polish, gel and broken nails. I find bringing down this salons rating over those items are unfair and misleading. Polish doesn’t come with a warranty. Polish and nails last based on lifestyle and naturally occurring oils in your nails. One persons nails can hold gel until it is time to change color and another’s can peel off entirely after 24hrs. This is based on your nails oil production. I worked as a nail tech in a spa for two years. My technique was the same everytime for gel polish. Some clients came back with the gel in tact just grown out and others gel was almost gone. Some clients gel required extra soaking and filing off and some just fell off. Also contributing factors, how often are your hands in water, how often are you using beauty products, lifestyle plays a big factor in the longevity of your nails.
Stop blaming your nail techs. These techs are savvy, experienced, professional, and know what they are doing. Leaving bad reviews over gel is wrong.
Sincerely a born and raised...
