I called Gravity Sports to price check the services I needed done on two pair of ski’s and a snowboard I purchased online. I was told I would be charged $15 for a remount and I could drop off the equipment at 11 AM.
I got to the store at 11:05 and it was locked and closed, called twice with no answer. 20 minutes later the clerk showed up, clearly in a rush and clearly not in a mood to be helpful. As always, I confirmed the price prior to signing and was told, condescendingly, that it was $55 for a remount and I wouldn’t be able to find it cheaper anywhere else.
Honestly this wouldn’t have been an issue if the guy had any manners, took the time to explain, or apologized for the mixup. (The day I called they were clearly training someone since whoever I spoke to wasn’t really able to answer my questions and had to pause so whoever was next to him could tell him the answer. Maybe they never played the game Telephone as a child, but for those of us who did we know that when we communicate that way, things get mixed up.) An apology for his staffs’s misunderstanding and mistake would have been appropriate as I wasted 25 minutes of my morning, but that didn’t happened. He didn’t even take the time to check the equipment and then when I told him I thought there was a cheaper option elsewhere his response was a sarcastic laugh and “Yeah?! Good luck! Let me know how that goes for you”...
So buddy since you asked, let me tell you.... The skis and bindings I brought to your store today were so old they were unsafe to be remounted. Instead, I took my business elsewhere and was able to find a fabulous pair of skis which I purchased.
It’s really sad you run a ski rental place yet don’t have the time or patience to help your customer understand what their needs are and how you can help.
But what I will say is how much I appreciate you sending me somewhere else. The clerk who helped me purchase my pair of skis took the time to explain exactly what I needed, why I needed it, and they did a beautiful job tuning up my boyfriends snow board and switching around the bindings.
Thanks for recommending me to use anyone...
Read moreMy first interaction with Gravity Sports was over the phone. It was towards the end of the work day. One of my old ski boots finally gave out. My wife and I looked all over town for a ski retailer and I had all but lost hope for skiing in the 24/25 season. I was so happy to learn over the phone that Gravity Sports is the only ski shop for 300 miles and the person on the phone was so kind and energetic and encouraged me to stop by the shop that evening. I did and man am I a happy customer.
Top to bottom I can not say enough good about this shop. The people are awesome. Their products are awesome. Their ability to make solid and honest recommendations is awesome. C'mon man this place has it all, people, products, knowledge and a shop of talent that is second to none.
I only wish I was better with names, because the person that met with me when I walked into the shop is way cool and probably the most knowledgeable ski person I have ever met. We picked a pair of skis and then went through a detailed measuring of my feet. I was blown away by his recommendation for a pair of boots. I have skied for 40 years and have never had a boot explained and fit like that night. Then on to bindings and an equally awesome experience. No joke - best products and people ever.
I spent 3 days in the mountains right after I picked up the skis and it was awesome. Every representation of how the skis, bindings and boots would perform was 100% spot on. 58 and skiing for 3 straight days, give me a break. That doesn't happen without a great shop and people who know their game.
If you are in the market, do yourself a favor and walk into Gravity Sports. You won't be...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews but I wanted to make sure I commented on the awesome interaction and purchasing experience I had when visiting Gravity Sports. I showed up one night in December about 30 minutes before store close looking to purchase a pair of skis. I had never bought skis before and wasn’t sure what all I needed and what the whole process entailed. The owner was a super cool dude who walked me through everything and was very patient with my slew of questions. I have size 15 shoe and ski boots have always been difficult to come across in the right sizes and are always uncomfortable. He ended up recommending heat molding to me and spent the time to do that past close. He sent the rest of his team home and stayed to help me through the process which we weren’t done with until 1.5 hours after close. I know he needed to get back to dinner with his family but instead he stayed to help and didn’t once make me feel rushed. Truly wonderful buying experience and had some great conversation along the way. You can tell he’s really passionate about what he does and the sport in general and gets excited about sharing that joy and excitement with others, hoping they’ll experience the same. Much appreciated for all your help! The kindness and patience didn’t go unnoticed. Will definitely be back for any of my future skiing (and related...
