Hidden Gems Escape Room — Attraction in Mechanicsville

1st timers going to an escape place but I can say with confidence it is a must go to. They were super accommodating opening early and spending alot of time explaining everything in detail. I took my daughter and they were extremely patient with her. In the beginning we took our time not thinking there was so much to do in the 1st room. They jam packed so much fun into every room. We thought they were unlocking some things but afterwards they proved to us that everything unlocks itself and moves when the right answer is input. So much work went into this and it shows, it is something very very special. You will most definitely not be bored. They have a great balance from easy to difficult puzzles. We chose the Santa/Elf Christmas theme and it was so amazing. I was entertained with every turn and around every corner there was another surprise. So interactive and a really great time. My only complaint would be we were told keys and tools from previous rooms wouldn't work in the next room which could be my fault I may have heard the instructions wrong, so not taking away a star for my mistake. I would highly recommend moving quickly and don't hesitate to ask for help. They allowed us more time more than once which I feel every themed escape should have the same time, we originally got 15 minutes less for that adventure but were given more time. We even got a sneak peek of another themed escaped room which was really amazing. You can tell they really put a ton of time and pride into this. It shows and is well deserved. We have had the pleasure of playing all the rooms here and all we can say is WOW!! Kim and Jesse have a talent for designing, creating, and constructing unbelievable experiences. Each of their rooms are very unique and incredibly immersive. They have put a lot of work into making sure every detail fits and matches the theme and that makes you feel like you are apart of the room. The puzzles are challenging, but understandable. Everything just makes sense, which is hard to find in every room at one establishment....typically you'll come across something that makes you wonder how you were supposed to know that...but not here!! And let's not forget the most important part...customer service. We were greeted and immediately made to feel like we were appreciated customers and we watched other customers be greeted with the same enthusiasm!! It is very refreshing these days to feel like a business is glad you are there instead of how some other places make you feel like they are doing you a service for allowing you to give them money.

If you live in the Richmond area, VISIT and PLAY here. We drove 2 hours, just to play these rooms and we were not disappointed. So even if you are 2 hours away, make the drive!!!

The staff were incredibly friendly and supportive, providing just the right balance of hints when we needed them without giving too much away. Their passion and enthusiasm for creating memorable experiences truly shows.
