Hotworx - Charlotte- Steele Creek — Attraction in Belmont

Signed up in May for Hot Worx. I was told that it was a 99.00 cancellation fee prior to three months . And after three months , you can cancel. Called in to cancel only to find out the contract said six months.

Tried to cancel .. Spoke to a team member who kept saying “yeah you only have one more month and then you can cancel.” Which wouldn’t be right if I had a six month contract…

Spoke to the owner a few hours later and It came off slightly condescending to hear “I’m not sure where the confusion is .” Or making it seem as if I’m not telling the truth. Considering the employee I spoke to a few hours prior gave me inaccurate information about how many months I had remaining , it’s very possible that when I signed up that I was told inaccurate information. He said well it was the GM who signed you up.

Moral of the story, physically read your contract before signing up . I cancelled because the workouts are boring and the screens are small and high. I still had to pay an additional month to get out . Signing up for a gym shouldn’t feel like you’re signing up for a 360 deal.

Instead of asking about my experience or why I wanted to cancel , you instead chose to tell me “you don’t understand where the confusion was and you need to hold members accountable .” I’m giving it two stars because the gym itself is nice and well...

I have been doing HOTWORX 5-6 a week for 8 months and I cannot express how transformative it’s been in my life. I feel stronger and more comfortable in my body than I ever have before.

Along with muscle gain and fat loss, I have seen an incredible improvement in my skin (my acne is almost completely gone) and my immune system. I am a teacher and mother of three small kids and for the first time in YEARS I got zero sicknesses all falll/winter. No strep, no flu, no bronchitis, ZIP! The only major lifestyle change I’ve made from the prior year was consistent HOTWORX.

The facility is always clean and I never feel intimidated my the members here. Everyone is kind and I see people of all ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds. I just love it.

I visited for their grand opening and had such a blast! The facility is absolutely gorgeous, and I got to do a rowing workout along with some fun calisthenic challenges. I really enjoyed myself and learned about new ways to push my limits.

Now, let me tell you about the sauna rowing workout—it was intense! It felt like a Peloton session, with an instructor leading the way via screen, pushing and encouraging me the whole time. After 15 minutes in that 124-degree heat, I was absolutely drenched! Even though I felt like I could have kept going, I was excited to hear they offer longer sessions in different rooms.
