Kate Spade Outlet — Local services in Belmont

After doing some research on various bags online, I decided that I was going to purchase a Kate Spade bag. A friend from church suggested I visit the outlet in Charlotte, and I'm so glad that I did! They had a larger selection than I expected, larger than it was online. I was looking for a bag to carry my Chromebook, so I brought it along with me to make sure it fit. The sales associate who helped me, Timika, saw me trying my laptop in different bags and showed me several laptop bags in the store. When I picked one, she helped me find a matching wallet and asked me if I was a student (I'm in my last semester of grad school,) and gave me a 15% student discount on top of the discounts the store was already offering. I walked in alone and only person inside ,as a 25 hispanic female with about 5 bags looking for silver jewelry so went to the jewelry section put bags down and trying on bracelets never touching my bags the sales associate Tracy ( which is the name I received when calling store unsure if any of these names are real) comes to my side I picked up my bags and started fanning myself it was hot she proceeded to stare at me making me feel uncomfortable and then tells another employee loud enough I could hear, to check my bags and that she thought I put something inside one so I tell her in a stern tone “ you can check my bags my arms were tired she then says no you’re fine so I direct my voice to her and repeated again you can check my bags I didn’t take anything again repeated no you’re fine . If I could leave less stars, I would. I walked into Kate Spade 2/20 right after spending over $300 in Michael Kors. When walking into Michael Kors , I was immediately greeted. I’m not surprised, as the staff looked like me, DIVERSE. I walked into Kate Spade, knowing what bag I already wanted to purchase. Needless to say, I was not greeted when I walked into the door. I let 10 mins pass, to see if any of the 3 white women would approach me. Not once did they approach me. I’m glad I didn’t spend my BLACK dollars in your white establishment.
