I had a bad first experience visiting here. On the afternoon of March 7 I bought some of the sausage (the Pig Kahuna) which had been discounted with their club card, and which had some frost on it in-store and appeared to be previously frozen. The "sell by" date listed March 22, about two weeks away. The next morning I cooked these up, after leaving them in the refrigerator overnight. When cooking I smelled a foul ammonia odor which grew more intense while cooking. I rarely cook pork and wondered if this was somehow "normal", but I found out this smell was caused by either the pork going bad, or some strange additives. Either way, something bad. Unfortunately I ended up throwing the whole thing in the trash, since just smelling it was starting to make me feel sick, probably my body's natural defense mechanism. Otherwise, I enjoyed shopping in the store and want to check out some more of the "stations" around there next time, particularly the coffee and beer den, and the sandwich place! The price and feel of the place is kind of like Whole Foods, for better and worse (e.g. high prices of some items).

I came here to buy my son's birthday cake, this grocery store is so pretty and clean!

The manager at this store was exceptionally rude to me in front of other customers. I was so excited to see the wide selection of baked goods that I sent a photo of the bakery items to my wife. The manager rudely accosted me in front of other customers. Invaded my personal space and tried to read my phone. He stood exceptionally close to me and came closer when I stepped away. It was very uncomfortable and when I asked if I could help him, he said I was not allowed to take photographs and kept approaching trying to read my text conversation. I cannot stress how weird and uncomfortable it was as a customer to be treated and approached that way. I am a customer who is shopping and these are the items that I am about to buy. Why wouldn't you expect people to send photos home asking what to buy? I was embarrassed in front of other customers and would not buy from the store. This happened on June 15th 2018 at 11:56 a.m.

Yesterday was my 2nd time going to the location in summerville sc on Dorchester rd. The 1st time I had a great experience just that the pricess were too high.

Long story short. I play lotto to help ease my mind due to tumors that I have and my medical issues. Since I noticed that they have lotto from my 1st experience I came back a 2nd time to try and get lotto from them. I always by my lotto by the pack so I asked the young lady for 2 packs. She stated that she don't handled lotto. So she called a manager. "James ".

So James came and immediately had a Nasty attitude. "So what do you want" I explained that I would like 2 packs of the lotto of my choice please. He responded "For What" I said excuse me. And he then said "what do you want 2 packs for. " i explained to him that i always purchase lotto by packs bc I am not lucky when buying individual. His response was "NO IM NOT DOING THAT" I asked are you saying that you don't have any packs or are you not going to sell it to me. And James clearly stated that he will not sell me 2 packs. I then asked him a clear question to make sure that I heard him correctly. Are you refusing to sell me 2 packs for a reason. His response was. " I don't care how you buy it I'm not going to sell you 2 packs. I'll sell you individuals in the machine". With a nasty attitude.

I said okay thank you and left the building. I did try to call and speak with the sore manager to report it but the young lady placed me om hold for 28 mins. I hung up and called again the same young lady answered and tried to change her voice and said no one was available.

I have never in my life been a victim of racism and discrimination before and It saddened me to actually go through it. On top of everything that I am going through yesterday just wasn't a good day to be treated with so much disrespect.

I will never shop at...

Customer service is beyond terrible. Prices on items mislabeled. Show the cashier and she sees the error and attempts to correct it but manager is no where to be found to void the transaction and enter the right price, after 10-15 minutes and 2 employees searching still no manger but a supervisor or someone who has the ability to check the error and correct. The cashier who was nice ask the supervisor several times if she wants to check for herself to make sure the void is valid she never goes to checks but she corrects the order anyway then she stands there for another 10 minutes like she is making the toughest life decision and we are waiting to pay with our card in the reader to pay... now that the order is corrected. She then finally pages or calls the manger who appears with an attitude no customer service what so ever we are now 30 minutes into a check out. She ask me to walk back with her to show her. As I’m talking to her she speaks over me not listening to anything I said. The item was incorrectly label with a sale sticker, so what I had wasn’t actually on sale but the sale sticker was there. She takes it off offers no apology for our time when we ask where the actual sale items are they laugh and say guess we don’t have any. We turn to walk back to the front of the store to make sure the sale was voided and didn’t process since we entered our card she said I’ll meet you up there to the register she goes a different way and never comes back to the register. The cashier made sure that the sale didn’t go through and we left. I won’t be back and I’ll make sure no friends or colleagues are back either. No the store wasn’t crowded this was 630 am. I can’t wait until earth fares back open. They should train these employees or put robots in the store... same difference. Cashier was friendly only complement I...

This is in my top 3 grocery stores to shop at. There's really only two complaints I have with the place. The first being somewhat understandable is the prices on some items. I get it grocery stores are hard on wallets sometimes but $3.99 for Nilla wafers? Milk was cheap here too for awhile at around $2 now, bordering on $4. There are good sales however and sometimes make things more wallet friendly. The only other thing is the cookies. Guys please fix this. I loved, loved, loved, the cookies until a month ago when, for the first time, I had a worker mix and match a box from your trays instead of grabbing the prepackaged ones. That's when it all took a turn for the worse and something out of the 10 plagues occurred. I observed a swarm of fruit flies take off from the tray as they were being disturbed. Now I'm no germaphobe, I'm at a picnic, a fly or bee lands on the food incessantly, no biggie. However, I cant fathom fruit flies nesting on cookies all day I'm about to eat. I try not to think about this because it raises the question as to how many other open areas food is prepared in, that fruit flies nest. Simple fix, enclosed case as opposed to sneeze guard glass and you've got my cookie business again. I get you want to display them to sell but, how many customers noticed what I did and no longer buy them? Props where props are due though, some of the best fried chicken I've had, the sandwich bar is great, breads, fudge, muffins, most of lowes foods are on point. Customer service is always great and the overall atmosphere and cleanliness of the store is...
