Swig & Swine, what a fantastic bbq cozy restaurant! This is definitely your must try BBQ restaurant if you're visiting Charleston or nearby cities, islands in South Carolina!!! It's a five with all due respect in every possible area, especially and most importantly, in the fooooooood!!! Wow, my daughter and I were left so impressed and satisfied because the food was five star top notch quality!! We will return and urge you to visit this location in Sunmerville. This barbecue joint is unique because they offer multiple barbecue flavors for all palates! My favorite were the jalapeño and the Alabama White sauce!! You can't get that many sauces in other barbecue restaurants. You may get two or three, but they have five sauces to experience with your smoked meats. The manager, Christian, is just terrific. He took the time to visit and share more details about the different cuts of meat we were trying and to check in on us. Our server, Jesse, was fantastic, allowing us to try a tiny serving of the sides in order to be assured we picked the best options to order for us. I'm so grateful for him because although I loved a lot of things, I know I didn't a few others, and I'll explain why. Their brisket is nicely seasoned, tender, and juicy, so loved it! Their wings are crispy and also have a nice rub on them that makes them taste so yummy. I always like my wings crispy, and that's what I got here, meat off of the bone good!! The drumstick and the flat wing were a very good size, too. I haven't seen wings that big in a while, so more meat for the buck and the taste is tops! They turkey meat is also tender and rich in flavor. They're barbecue ribs were rich in flavor and very meaty, too, so if you're into ribs, these are it! I highly recommend them!! Their sides are exquisite, and they were my favorite part of the night. They had me at their corn pudding, so very delicious and sweet!!! And then I tried their potato salad, and it was one of the very best I've had, kudos to the chef!! Their coleslaw was crunchy, tasty, and perfectly refreshing & tasting!! They have this hash over rice that is phenomenal!!!!!! This was my favorite side. And, their Brunswick Stew was great except I didn't like the sweet taste it had. I don't like my soups with sugar or my beans. This is why I would not recommend their beans because they're sweet, but this is a matter of preference only. Their fermented pickles onions were also sweet and not to my liking, but only because I have a salty preference when it comes to fermented veggies, and I happen to love my salty fermented vinegar onions with my barbecue, so this was a bummer for me, kind of like bad salsa at a Mexican Restaurant! I didn't try their collards because I was told they were sweet, but I should have probably tried them anyways, just to know. I tried their macaroni as a small side, and it was warm and good and standard tasting, but it wasn't one of our four choices we ended up choosing from at the end.. I like my collards with bacon and garlic and salt, so I knew these collards would not be my favorite anyhow, but again, it's a matter of preference only. My regret is not trying grits!!! Grits are a staple in South Carolina, so I bet they were stupendous! And, I love grits any way! For sure, next time!!! So most sides are exquisite, and you can't go wrong!! Lastly, you have to try their dessert!! We tried their blueberry cobbler, and it was out of this world!!!!!!! You can't leave without trying it!! They also have peach cobbler, and I bet it's just as good. I rate them a 5 for the best barbecue in town in my opinion, best service, and relaxing and friendly atmosphere!! Great going chef and team!! I will definitely visit many times in the future and urge everyone to...

From the moment I stepped through the door, the inviting aroma of slow-cooked goodness greeted me. The rustic charm of the restaurant creates a warm and cozy atmosphere that's perfect for indulging in comfort food. The menu is a BBQ lover's dream come true, offering a wide array of tantalizing options.
But what truly set this experience apart was our phenomenal waitress, Anna. She was an absolute delight from start to finish. Anna's warm smile and friendly demeanor made us feel right at home. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered fantastic recommendations based on our preferences. Her genuine passion for the food and genuine interest in our satisfaction truly elevated the entire dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the BBQ. Swig & Swine certainly knows their way around a smoker! The meat was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Every bite was a symphony of smoky, savory goodness. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone perfection, and the pulled pork was a melt-in-your-mouth sensation. The variety of house-made sauces allowed us to customize our taste experience, and each one was a winner.
The sides were equally impressive. The mac and cheese was creamy and rich, the collard greens were seasoned to perfection, and the cornbread was the ideal balance of moist and crumbly. It's clear that the chefs at Swig & Swine take immense pride in their craft, and it truly shines through in every dish.
To top it all off, the dessert menu provided a sweet ending to an already outstanding meal. The banana pudding was a revelation, and the pecan pie had the perfect blend of buttery crust and gooey filling.
In summary, Swig & Swine exceeded all expectations. The food was exceptional, the ambiance was inviting, and Anna's exceptional service was the cherry on top. This is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable BBQ experience in Summerville. We'll be back for more,...
Read moreAmazing food. We are new to the area and decided to check out Swig and Swine for my birthday on Wednesday. We started with the pimento cheese. It is so good and also delicious the next day with tortilla chips. I got the sweet tea mojito and it tastes like a southern summer in a glass. It was wing Wednesday so we ordered a bunch of wings and some sides. We got the wings dry rubbed and plain and the waitress brought us all the sauces to try. I am from Buffalo so I know my wings. If you are looking for Buffalo style wings, these are not it. That is like comparing apples and oranges. However, if you want the best wings you have ever had these are the clear winner. I actually have family in Buffalo who have disowned me after making that comment, but that is just because they have never tried these. We actually preferred them with dry rub and no sauce. They are that good. My son had the macaroni and cheese. He loved it so much he wouldn't share. Now for my favorite part of the meal- the baked potato salad. This was by far THE BEST potato salad I have ever had. I talked about it so much the next day that my husband surprised me by stopping in to get me some on his way home. Clearly I made a good choice marrying that man. Swig and Swine potato salad is my new love language. The staff there is excellent. Our waitress was super friendly and fast. My son got sick (severe pollen allergies) shortly after our food arrived and she quickly brought us to go boxes and the check so we could get him home. Even though we didn't get to enjoy the full dining in experience the food was excellent and we will see definitely be returning...
