My wife and daughters went to eat at this establishment. They asked For shrimp lo mein as a To Go order to bring back home to me. When they got home, I received pork spaghetti. I then called the establishment, and after three people got the general manager on the phone. She let me know that spaghetti is how they prepare lo mein, and that she wasn’t certain what the mystery was, she would have to see it. This is what we should all be getting tired of! This is by for an Italian establishment. Yet they want to use the noodles of Italian, with the meat. The only thing that is blatantly clear is, they’ll put The first available in your food and charge you above retail. As I told the manager, I don’t want my money back. I want All of your lies and mystery products out of my system. I want to know the ramifications for putting stolen products inside of me. I am just so tired of the cost of being high, and being a con! What’s the repercussion? I go there and get myself in trouble getting my justice? They allowed to put garbage and toxins in my system, and we are not allowed to do Anything about it? Tricking people with store-bought noodles in place of lo mein is a serious deception. I mean it’s Every kind of wrong you can think of. But when you’ve allowed me to digest a meat that you’re not even sure what it is is not some form of assault? Not bodily damage? At what point can I go to their establishment and express for an eye? What would that look like? What would I have to do to be the equal of putting What we can all assume to be a non-FDA approved material. I am so sick of how easy it is to...
Read moreThis place use to be the best buffet. I don't know what has happened but it has went down hill fast in the last two times I was there. The quality and taste of the food is awful now. They use to have the best spring rolls, now they are completely different as is a lot of the other dishes. The spring and egg rolls seem to be mass produced now ,.like they are shipped in pre made and frozen. Also, everything is over cooked now to the point of being dried out. The pot stickers are overcooked, the sweet and sour chicken are way over cooked. They have added new dishes and they aren't good, such as their take on cashew chicken which is awful, they should've left well enough alone and not tried to change things. I hear that it's under new owners, if so these new owners are ruining this restaurants reputation for having excellent Chinese food. After going twice in the past couple weeks, it has been the same lower grade of quality in the food , it's just sad. I will no longer be patroning this establishment anymore. I will drive across town to their competitions buffet on Main Street. Word of advice to the owners " Don't change something, when it is going good, you're going to lose long time customers. Bring back the older, original recipes, such as the shrimp, the Curry chicken dish, the original fries recipe, etc., that put this business on the map and had plenty of returning customers. Your only hurting your business by doing these changes. Your not going to be successful this way, I can...
Read moreI've been going to Chinese Express for over 10 years now. For the first 6 years, I ordered buffet to go. Great deal! About every 2 months, I have an order to go. I usually get custom order of Spicy Tofu and Vegetables (usually mix bag but always taste hot and good), Spare Ribs special, and Sweet & Sour pork.
Also, best food for buffet in the entire Charleston area for the low cost. Albeit, buffet food rarely is to par in taste quality to normal ordered food. However, Chinese Express keeps the serving pans full and freshly prepared often.
If a menu item is missing that you would normally see on the buffet, you could simply ask the wait staff to prepare a pan. Most of the time, they honor your request.
Stay away from lo mein as it reminds me of spaghetti noodles, a bit too soggy. Panda Express has best lo mein noodle but lacks any meat/vegetables.
Best Chinese food in all Charleston area for my money has consistently been Red Orchid, although the drive is too far to justify the time and the portions have gotten smaller...
