To start, I absolutely loved this gym. The selection of equipment meant basically no wait time ever for equipment. The vibe was great and people so friendly you could walk out with a new best friend every time you ended your workout. The facility was nice and you could really appreciate the history of fitness in this gym. Itâs hard to call it a gym because itâs more than that.
The problem is the owners. Specifically Mark. I never wanted to stop going to this gym but after our interaction it was clear my business was replaceable, which in reality it is. The gym has a very strict no visitors after hours policy. Note the word visitor. I at the time had 2 cars and would sometimes forget to move the badge they give for access to the car I was driving. I realized that was my fault and usually would eat the ~$5 âforgotten keyâ charge. I was let into the gym the day I forgot my fob and at the time it was unstaffed. I paused in front of the camera in the front of the building to acknowledge my presence and i proceeded to cashapp the owner for forgetting the badge.
The next day I wake up to a series of texts from the MH staff notifying me of my âdelinquentâ activities. I figured since it was my fault I can accept it, I was then told to pay an additional fee. I asked if the money I had sent prior would be included in the price and the owner proceeded to berate me and post our interaction in their internal group chats labeling me a âclownâ. After that I realized my business was not valued and my journey at that gym was not appreciated. Anytime the owner is called out on something he proceeds to either post the interaction on their social media page mocking people or engage in less than professional behavior with his customers. If you donât believe me letâs leave it in his court and wait for his reply both here and on social media. Let me be clear I donât have an issue with the gym itself or taking responsibility for my mistakes. I do have a problem with being called a trespasser/ felon when I pay to use a service and made a mistake.
UPDATE: Judging from the ownerâs response you can clearly see his ego and his use of name calling. Two true facts about his character. I would love the opportunity to put the video of me âcreepingâ and âconvincing someone to let me inâ here, considering since I have the video, clearly looks like I was let in and stopped in front of the camera to acknowledge the fee that I owed. The owner clearly picks and chooses who he âdefendsâ clearly âpeople like me,â being African American male takes that character deformation incredibly offensively and you should be ashamed. Several of the people I trained with at this gym no longer engage with him for this reason. Lying, name calling and double standards are not something a respectable business owner should be doing. I think you are delusional sir. Stopping and taking time to acknowledge the fact that I did enter and sending the money I owed to the gym proves the character of âpeople like meâ itâs a shame that you strive so hard to belittle people who call you out. You know what is a crime? Stealing. I payed you and you refused to pay back my overpayment. Now thatâs a crime so please own up to your âcriminal...

Iâd like to point out that even during my 6+ month attendance at this facility, the owners reply to my Google Review is the only acknowledgment I ever received from him, so Iâm flattered that I got a response.
His lack of acknowledgment explains why he didnât realize I attended his gym, nor my experience in the fitness industry which includes- 10 years of competing, 2 years managing a gym, 4 years as a nutritional and supplement advisor, 4 years of personal training, and dozens of ââseriousââ gym memberships and attendances- assuming that means gyms with specialty equipment for competitive athletes- prob my favorite one is the Metroflex in Arlington I just visited last month , and even met the owner on the first day! For the music- (during my membership) there was no âgym controlled musicâ. It was left to the members to provide their own music, which resulted in many rolling in large party speakers and blasting the genre of their choice. It was not regulated, and usually never at a volume where ppl could speak to each other. As far as some equipment- majority of the bars were bent. Not great for heavy lifting. The PL âroomâ was so small I could barely deadlift in there or get a group to train together. And when I did deadlift, I couldnât fit more than 750 on the bar without it sliding off. Regarding location- yes, there are potholes, debris, and one day paint was spilled in the lot, which got on my tires and splattered all over my truck that is still there today.
Perhaps some of these things have changed since I was there, which is great. Itâs customer reviews that help businesses improve. If improvements had been made in the areas I was unhappy about then maybe I wasnât the only one with...
Read moreI was passing by when I saw the gym, my girlfriend and I decided to come to take a look at it. I was previously a Gold's Gym member around the time. As I walked in, I met the owner Mark Phillips of MadHouse gym. He introduced himself and was very welcoming to his gym. Around the gym's office area, there are a few cardio and resistance training machines. At first, I was not impressed, but until he guided me to the center and back of his gym.
Behold! It was a power-lifter and bodybuilder's paradise! I was astonished by the aesthetics of the gym. The gym members there are nice and the environment gave me a "work hard" feel. I was surprised by the fact that not only does this gym have the equipment for power cleans, but they also have a lifting platform for serious lifters. They also have free weight equipment such as bench press, squat rack, and dead-lifting platforms.
The gym provides personal trainers and they have classes if you need assistance in achieving your goals. You will have to contact the trainers and come during business hours to get yourself setup with them. The gym provides a Bluetooth radio that everyone can use for as long the gym owners are not using it. The prices are very reasonable and have the best value for what this gym possess. There are no contracts and it goes month-to-month. If you are looking for a more "hardcore" based gym, this gym is a no-brainer.
I have been a member of this gym well over two months so far and I enjoy it. I love the fact I can go into this gym at any time of the day in the week and put in the work I need. I am not going to lie, I signed up before I even touched...
