Just ate at this place yesterday, today is February 13, 2017. What an embarrassment to call this a restaurant. Vending machines have a much higher standard on their "food". If you shop there then I can somewhat understand, because they do have product that you may not be able to find anywhere else, but if you eat there and constantly. Then what is wrong with you?! Seriously, that is a legitimate question. You must have the worst taste buds or must not care about life anymore. Please do not waste your hard earn money on this "restaurant" something needs to change. The food, the quality, and by all means the service. The girl wasn't even paying attention to what she was doing. Had to run my card twice because she forgot to charge for taxes. Asked for ice and she gave me 3 cubes because of course, why would she give me more. Bottles holding the sauces looked filthy, lemons looked that they were cut in October of 2016, and when I squeezed one it confirmed my theory. Lastly the food. These are probably by far the worst tacos I've ever tried. Beef tasted like it was the cows tail. Nothing but nerves and so chewy. Please don't go, this a warning. Businesses listen with money, they will never pay attention to someone like me. You've...
Read moreI have been a customer since they expanded into their current larger store, and the previous one. This store may not be aesthetically pleasing, but it comes with many perks. They have a taqueria, carniceria, and it's a grocery store.
I drive over 11 miles each way for the food from their taqueria. Every time I'm there, I also buy their plain and seasoned meat from the carniceria. The grocery store sells ready made dough for tamales, and all the Mexican cheeses that you would not normally find at the local grocery stores.
The staff from all of the previously mentioned departments have always been very courteous and helpful. There have only been two times that I was somewhat frustrated; when all of my tacos fell apart, and the time I came in for the taqueria, and they decided to close early, even though I had called to confirm their hours. The taco situation seems to have been resolved, as I have noticed that they are doubling up on the tortillas now.
If you have never strayed from the typical Mexican restaurants you find at every corner, I recommend you live a little, and...
Read more—- Update —- Todavía es un lugar bueno para comprar tus cosas/comidas mexicanas. Parking lot NEEDS repair, a lot of pot holes and it’s been like this for a while. Definitely need to be mindful of other shoppers/customers. Some feel entitled to extra service because they know the owner or their kids/relative works there.
I’ve even heard some of them disrespect the carniceros because they wanted to be served first or weren’t paying attention and others got serviced before them.
So, that can be a potential problem for new comers that don’t know the way carnicerías work.
First review——— El Tío is still our favorite store to shop at from pan, carne, vegetables, and eating at the restaurant inside.
The restaurant inside has delicious food and many options to...
