I would absolutely use again. Paul was extremely helpful. Let me tell you my story. I called 2 places here in Venice and said I was in need of a new screen on my laptop. First place said they didn't do them because they never could figure out how to order in the right parts. Um, what? Second place said they didn't do them because they were too hard to do correctly. Mouth open, I call Paradise Computer thinking I am going to have to try to do this myself. By this time I am like, Can you replace a laptop screen? Not only did Paul say yes but he also didn't allow my start of annoyance to rub off on him. I asked if there were problems ordering them and he was like.. What? No. I just need to see your computer to make sure I order the right part. I agreed to be there shortly and was.
I did have to pay up front, which I don't mind at all since I didn't want to leave my laptop as I could hook it up to a monitor and get the stuff off it I needed. He ordered the piece, told me a date (which was just a few days away) and even called me a day early when it came in. :) Boy was I happy.
For some weird reason my keyboard decided to not work right after that repair. I did drop the laptop to begin with that shattered the screen. And even though the laptop keyboard worked for awhile it is more than likely damaged in that drop. I don't think Paul could have done that. Just bad timing. :)
So I said, Okay, can you get me a new keyboard. He gave me a time frame, which was a ways out but gave me a usb keyboard that worked in the mean time. :) I deal with parts that take time getting them in, so completely understood. You are at the mercy of your vendors at times. Well, part came in when he said it would. Taking it back in, he replaced it out in no time and now my baby is back up and fully working again. Woo hoo!
Timely, professional, and pleasant. He even gave us some advice and we talked about having him help on a project he's probably not seen before and without batting an eye he had an idea or two and was willing. Now that's some confidence!
The only bummer part of the whole thing... I didn't find him sooner. I kept going back to this one other shop close to where Paul is and they never were able to fix a thing. Makes me wonder if Paul could have done it?...
Read moreThis guy replaced our laptop with "a comparable model" that turned out to be THREE TIMES AS OLD!! We brought our 3 year old working laptop in for repair because it was slowing down. He told us we needed a new motherboard, so we left it for repairs. A few days later he called and asked who else had worked on our computer because when he opened it up pieces fell out. We told him that he was the only person who had ever worked on our laptop. He told us he could not put it back together but we could either take our computer back (now in pieces) or accept a comparable refurbished model as a replacement. We were leaving town and needed the laptop so said we trusted him and took the replacement.
Less than four months later the replacement laptop died. We took it to Best Buy and were shocked when they said it was over ten years old!! Had we been told that Paradise Computer's idea of a "comparable model" was something made in 2011 we would have never agreed! I will let you form your opinion of how this man...
Read moreFound Paradise Computer Repair when looking for a place to fix my laptop after it died suddenly. Chose this place because of the reviews about customer service and wasn’t disappointed. I had already tried some basic stuff to try to fix my computer to no avail and Paul confirmed what I had suspected: that the motherboard was fried. He said he could take it in and look at it but that he would do the same thing I had and that he wouldn’t be able to fix it. He also said it’d be cheaper to buy a new laptop than for him to buy a new motherboard and fit it, and that’s what he would do if it was his computer. Charged me nothing and gave honest, helpful advice, as well as advice on how to recover the files myself. He could have easily taken it in and charged me for a new motherboard or to retrieve my data for me but he provided reasonable, helpful solutions to my problems. If Paul can fix it, he will, but I believe he’s genuinely interested in helping his customers. I would recommend this...
