This is our go-to Thai spot in the area. The service is friendly and their takeout is efficient and takes some covid precautions. They have many vegan and gf options, but be warned: the pad thai is made with fish sauce! Our favorites are the fresh rolls (crispy salad rolls with sweet creamy peanut dipping sauce), vegetable pad woon sen (glass noodles with lots of veggies in a sweet brown sauce), and tofu ginger stir fry (sweet and oily ginger sauce with julienned ginger throughout the veggies and tofu). We also recently tried their veggie roll and it was the best veggie roll I've ever had, plus it was presented very nicely for takeout! It was a big roll so with some garnishes so it was worth the $9. I am taking a star off for a couple of reasons. We were disappointed by the portions and food quality the one time we ordered the lunch special. The food seemed stale like it had been sitting for a while even though we had just ordered it. Also, they have messed up our orders a few times, which is understandable... but we have been ordering from them for a year now and they know my allergies (though I still put it in the order under every applicable dish) and they still recently gave me a dish with onions, which I am allergic to, even though everything else was made without onions. I just don't understand the oversight there. However, they always handle these issues well, apologize, and give a refund. I appreciate this so they still remain on our list of favorites...
Read moreWent here on a vacation visit to Venice Beach. This place has a colorful exterior and a very nice interior. My husband and I went during happy hour, so we got to try spicy tuna and the spicy crab roll. Not only was our server quick and attentive (young woman with brown hair and a tattooed arm - sorry I did not catch your name!) She was incredibly sweet and provided wonderful recommendations to us as well. We split a pad Thai which was my first time trying such a dish - I knew I liked peanut sauce on spring rolls but I didn't like it as much in a dish. That is based on personal preference however - the rice noodles and the bean sprouts were cooked to perfection and it complemented the smooth peanut butter by adding different textures. We also tried the tuna tower which was AWESOME. would eat my body weight in that again and again. When we left, the chef and all servers wished us a good evening and were very warm - all smiles.
The service here is great - we were never left wondering if our server were coming back. Servers who weren't even for our table also came to fill water, bring extra plates, clean off the table, check in with us, and brought us a spoon for splitting a noodle-y meal in two.
I really like this place and I think...
Read moreWe moved here from DC and we're really spoiled with an incredibly diverse selection of ethnic dining experiences.
We have had some challenges on located places that were up to the same quality and we have found our Sushi and Thai restaurant! It's hard to get both in one place and have them be of equally good quality.
Baiyike achiebed this perfectly. We had Sushi, a collection of rolls, from basic Spicy Tuna to their Summer roll and not one single disappointment. I ordered Green Curry to have for lunch the next day, it's a staple in Thai food and a great barometer of how they fare in general. It was wonderful. Not quite spicy enough, but I was conservative on my heat selection since you never know how they rate theirs. You can get from 0 to 5, which is really great for those who like the flavor but not the heat. I like the heat.
It is small, so be patient, the service was great, very friendly, and we are going back this weekend.
My only complaint was parking sucked, but we are used to that from DC, so we managed and it's worth it!
Just go. Or order online, such a great app....
