Philadelphia Candies — Attraction in Sharon

We were staying in MI and heard about the chocolate so we drove 1 1/2 hrs to get some. When we walked in the 2 ladies behind the counter looked at us and didn't say a word. I said "Hi, how are you?" ... nothing crickets... we started walking the store looking at all the different options. We grabbed about 20 or so of the smaller candies and some chocolate bars. We then walked to the candy counter and I asked if we could build our own box assortment of the individual candies since my husband likes dark chocolate and I like milk chocolate.... her response floored me... "Well, it would be better and easier if you would just select one of our pre-packed chocolates from over there"... I was so upset that we had just driven 1 1/2 hrs out of our way to be told We couldn't pick out our own chocolates, that I almost put everything down and left, but I didn't...because I heard the chocolates were great and worth the price and drive. I grew up in Chicago,and Cupid candies was always the go to fine chocolates,Now I'm in southern Illinois,and Cupids is 110miles from here,so I thought I would try Philadelphia candies.First ordered from amazon ,waited 12 days finally cancelled order,next ordered from eBay,said 3 days,turned into 8 days ,unanswered emails ,at least 5 of them,I asked them to please have the CEO contact me so I could explain to him about my negative experience, unanswered again.finally received buttercreams,they were disgusting,only tried one ,and it was ransid,with a chemical taste.returned them and still to this day nobody contacted me from Philadelphia candies except one message from Bethany,who only said sorry,but never answered my complaint!and never forwarded my request to speak to the ceo of the company,so that I could explain to him the complete negative experience with Philadelphia candies.And never even received my refund either! Yeah, no. Don't try ordering anything from them for Christmas. It won't show up on time unless you order it around Halloween, and that is a bit of a stretch. I placed an order around Black Friday (11/25) and the order went to "Awaiting Shipment", and that was the last heard until the order shipped out on 12/23. Got my order on 12/28, and the invoice for my order mentioned that they had to substitute for one of the items ordered. I wish they would've contacted me regarding having to substitute, so I could make a choice instead of them just not telling me and picking what they wanted to substitute. I also have an email from one of the employees where I had asked about the status of my order stating that the order would be worked on over the weekend the inquiry was sent (around 12/11) and delivered that midweek. Obviously that was a blatant lie, so be careful what you order, and order at your own risk, since they want to openly lie about when things are...
