I really don't like to give bad reviews because everybody deserves to have an "off" day but this was so absurd, that I have to do it. We got a room on New Year's Eve. My fur baby goes everywhere with me and they were accommodating in that regard & have actual "pet friendly" rooms. These are very convenient rooms to have! The sliding glass door opens up to an area for your pets. Sweet!! I was born & raised in Canon City & the Quality Inn rooms used to be pretty fancy. (Especially to a teenager/young adult). The rooms now, are not what I remember them to be. This night, it was a cold, snowy night & after awhile we noticed the heater was blowing cold air. When I tried calling the front desk, the phone didn't work either. So, I head down to the front desk to talk to the girl about my heater not working. I was told the maintenance man was gone for the night & she had just rented the last pet friendly room so there was nothing she could do. 😳😳😳 Umm... we have no heater. She then offered to get us a couple of extra blankets (which we never got btw) for our inconvenience. 🤔 Did she notice it was snowing outside?!?! I also told her I would have called down but the phone wasn't working either. Oh. I believe was her response. 🤦 She then said she could come down & try to adjust the heater to which I said, there's not much to adjust..?? It's hot/cold or high/low... What can you adjust?? 🤷 To which she says, well I don't know but I can try to turn it up. Turn it up?? To... What?? Hi?? At this point we are basically just staring at each other. She wants to come down to adjust my hi/low heater & my SO is in the shower so that isn't going to work & that's where it was left. We ended up having to go get a heater to put in the room. Apparently they didn't have one to offer for such occasions. No new room, no "extra blankets for our inconvenience" & no working phone was offered either. Discount you ask?? 😂😂😂 No. So, that was my experience. Pretty disappointing compared to what it used to be like there. I don't think I'll be staying there again. The room was run down & dirty too & the comforter was so thin that had we not gotten our own heater they likely would have found us frozen to death in...

I ultimately didn't get the room I reserved. I found out the room was wrong when I walked in the door. Went back down to the desk and they said that all the King rooms are closed due to renovations. There was also a note that stated that I was advised. Earlier that morning I received an email to contact the property. When I called that morning the front desk lady "Kittie" told me that I was "Prepaid and my reservation was all set". So, I was then called a liar when I was told that there was a note stating I was advised. Had I known when I called, I would've made a reservation elsewhere.
I understood that this wasn't the agent's fault that I was working with. I asked her if there was any way we could get into a king room or any compensation, she said there was nothing she could do.
Now my hands were tied as it was 3pm (check-in time) and we had plans at 4. So I was left with no choice but to stay.
Upon checkout, I did speak with Kittie and she said she "doesn't remember notating my account". Said that she was sorry, there was nothing she could do. There was also a gentleman standing next to her giving me every excuse in the world for the issue. I just simply stated that this was a huge disappointment and I would be contacting corporate to get this resolved. They didn't seem to care.
I wrote a contact form and received a response that I had the option of staying elsewhere, so there is nothing they can do to "fix" this. Mind you, I simply asked for a partial refund or a coupon for my next stay.
So here's my review: The place is not worth $100/night. The staff takes no responsibility for their errors. The Continental Breakfast consisted of a variety of breads, some scrambled eggs and dry seasoned potatoes. The place has a musty smell. No signage at places of renovations to keep people safe. The staff pretty much calls their customers liars. The beds need replacing.

Read moreI would NOT recommend anyone stay here. This place is literally falling apart at the seams, has shotty WiFi, and reeks of marijuana.
Let’s talk of the falling apart first. Everywhere you look, there’s a maintenance issue. The tiles on the stairs are missing or falling apart, there are stains on each and every carpet under your feet, and avoid the swimming pool at all costs - it’s a liability suit waiting to happen. After dinner, walking to my room and waking up to go to breakfast, I was accompanied by the sweet stench of marijuana that seemingly made its way up through the staircase - further increasing my appetite for some midnight munchies, but nonetheless annoying because my kids were constantly asking where the skunk was.
Overall, skip this place and stay in Pueblo. Not that Pueblo is really any better, but they have better accommodations. It’s not family friendly and the customer service is less than accommodating. For the management that may be reading this review, your establishment could be remarkable. Put some effort into your hotel, fix it up, slap a fresh coat of paint on the outside, fix your tiles and change that carpet out to something made this century. Your bar area is fantastic but for some reason or another, you stopped serving hot food. Get those grills going and start serving quality meals. Your breakfast bar is subpar at best and again, another liability waiting to happen - you’re going to get someone sick and if that person has any influence with health and safety related to food services, you’re done. Lastly, your swimming pool. SHUT THAT MOTHER DOWN and fix it properly. Your side stairs are broken, your filter accesses (both of them) had lids that didn’t properly secure, where a guest could easily walk and have their foot fall in, twisting, spraining, or breaking something. It’s a liability that...
