Range USA Humble — Attraction in Humble

I went to the Range USA location in Humble with my brother for a private “refresher” class with the instructor Allen B. The location is clean, great selection of shooting supplies and accessories, and everyone was friendly and helpful. Allen was a GREAT instructor! He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very patient in explaining and answering any questions we had during our private “refresher” class.

The next evening, I completed my LTC Range Proficiency class with Bob G. He was the same as Allen. Friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very patient with everyone in the class.

My brother and I have already agreed that we will be going back regularly for additional training/classes at Range USA in Humble (hopefully with Allen and Bob).

I highly recommend anyone interested in any level of training or just a fun, safe place to go shoot on a range, go to Range USA in Humble.

6/1/23 As usual, Bob G. did a great job teaching this Defensive Fundamentals class. He mixed detailed information, stories and made it enjoyable and informational to attend. It’s easy to see that he cares about his students and wants them to learn and have a fun time at RangeUSA. I hope RangeUSA offers more/varied classes for those that are interested. What about doing a “part 2” of the “Defensive Fundamentals” class among other varied new classes? I also would like to see a “class” similar to the Lady Sure Shots for men or open to all. This would give the group the same opportunity to work on our shooting techniques with trainers, easily purchase needed ammo, accessories, etc. while at the RangeUSA range as the women alone get with the Lady Sure Shots. This would give RangeUSA the opportunity to have more customers come in more regularly, become more comfortable with RangeUSA, try different guns through the rental program that they would be more likely to purchase from RangeUSA and make better/safer shooters that would more likely sign up for more classes, tell their friends and families about their positive experiences at RangeUSA and as I said above purchase ammo and accessories when they are at RangeUSA. It’s a win/win for the customers...

It’s quite sad to see how bad this specific Range USA has gotten, especially their management at this location. I’ve been coming here since it was known as shoot point blank. Now that the heat is back, I recently started trying to go going back here to get practice in until fall. For years I have visited this location as well as the cypress location, and have brought my younger brother who is preparing to go into the Army this August without any issues whatsoever. We always follow the house rules, no rapid fire, breaking 180 degree rule, loading mags in the bay, etc. However, the past 10 visits at this location we have encountered issues being allowed bringing in anyone under 21 WITH a guardian even though there is many waiver forms on file showing that I’ve been let in multiple times. A few times after speaking with management and reviewing the waivers and explaining the situation we have been let in, but it is ridiculous that none of the employees INCLUDING management know their own policies regarding shooters who are minors and are there with a parent/guardian/family member over 21. If you’re looking at getting a membership for you and your family, I definitely recommend looking elsewhere. It’s truly sad that None of the workers or the managers are on the same page as to what their policy is on who is allowed in. I have been coming to this range since 2017 and have NEVER had issues until recently, and will definitely not be coming back. Whoever is in charge should definitely do a better job at making sure your employees and management know their company policies. It’s sad when you even have employees apologizing about the recurring issue after to deal with it so many times. whoever is recently in charge has turned this place into a complete mess. Definitely won’t be recommending this range to anyone. For reference my brother has attended multiple outdoor courses that include mobile drills, so it’s silly to think management would say he’s not “capable of shooting” stationary and landing a zone hits like...

Somethings never change. I have been a member for somewhere around 2 years. Have had issues with consistent service level and new policies and procedures that seem to get implemented when employees see fit. I went to the range a couple of weeks ago, had intentions of test firing a rental gun and maybe making a purchase. I bought a box of Ammo Inc. .380 ammo to shoot on one of the rental guns. Went into the range loaded up the magazine, started to fire the gun, first round fired as it should, next round chambered and fired I thought. Gun would not chamber another round for some reason. I stripped the mag out, pulled the slide off, gun had not been cleaned or oiled for a very long time....... everything was gummed ip with residue very badly. The bullet actually lodged in the barrel. The range officer told me how terrible Ammo Inc ammo was and he couldn't believe they even sold it. As I took the gun and the other 48 rounds back to the rental counter, other employees chimed in and had something to say about the poor quality of the ammo. I asked the young man at the rental counter could I exchange the ammo for a better ammo and pay the difference. I was told no there was nothing that could be done. I asked to speak to the manager on duty...... spoke to him and he said same thing. Tried to explain that only two rounds went off and one was still In the gun. Nobody cared as usual..... I called and left messages for the manager M1&&, never got a return phone call. Waited a couple more days, called asked manager on duty, was interrogated before being passed to the Asst. Manager S&@. He took my phone call listened to my concern and said he would get in touch with customer service to see if the could refund me for the ammo...... been about 8 days and have heard nothing. Needless to say I cancelled my membership subscription today. I will not have to worry about being treated like a second class citizen in a Range...
