I always have a problem with online orders here. I placed an order and went to pick it up over half an hour later. They hadn’t even started making my order and there were only two people eating at a table and two people in line. The employee stated it wasn’t ready because she didn’t see the order come in. They get no notification and it makes no sound or anything to let them know when an online order is received. It just prints a ticket according to her. So I had to sit there and wait on them to help the people in line before they made the order I placed over half an hour ago. I could’ve just came in and waited in line and had the same result. There’s really no benefit to ordering online here. Last time, and it will be my last time, I placed six separate orders under the same name but paid separately online. When I get there, they only gave me five orders. When I let them know I had already paid for six orders, I had to sit there for 20 minutes while they compared my confirmation emails with the meals they had made, find the missing order and make it. I then asked for a drink. He hands me the drink and I ask if they could add it to the order I already paid for. He said no he has to have the card. I told him I left it in the car. He said it’s ok I’ll put it back. Really? After all that drama they could’ve just let me have the drink. Then they send me out the door with my hands full of six orders and didn’t so much as even help me with the door. No customer service here. None. I won’t miss the burritos here. They’re...
Read moreI love Firebirds World Burrito. However, if I had to compare the Humble location to the College Station Firebirds, I would have to say that College Station has Humble beat. You have to ask yourself the question: Why does the College Station location ALWAYS have a line coming out of the restaurant that runs all the way down the sidewalk every day at lunch and the Humble location rarely has more than 3-5 people dining or picking up from there? It's not the food because the food seems identical. I have had issues with the staff in Humble though. Example: My sister and I visited the Humble location recently and the young lady taking our order spoke so quietly that we had to keep repeating ourselves over and over. It would have been better if we had just filled out the burrito order form and handed it in. The young lady was terribly inaudible and in my personal opinion she acted like she really just did NOT want to be there. I sincerely hope the manager notices her lack of enthusiasm and inability to speak audibly soon before she damages the reputation of one of my all time favorite restaurants. I was so happy when they opened this location. I had always wanted a Freebirds closer to my house than College Station. Aside from the one employee I give 5 stars...
Read moreI don't know what it is about Freebirds, but I'm definitely addicted. I used to frequent a couple of locations in the Austin, TX area (more often than I should have, I'm sure), and this location hasn't let me down yet.
A tip for those that might not know about it: they have an ancho dressing that goes so perfectly on everything, not just salads. It really brings out more mouthwatering flavor on whatever you put it on. We love it so much, I've made my own batches of it at home on a few occasions.
Lately, they've made some changes to their available meats, seemingly doing away with white meat chick in favor of their deliciously seasoned dark meat chicken, but the one blemish I can find since the COVID pandemic is that they apparently no longer make their chips in house. If they do, they've changed the way they are completely and I'm not at all a fan. They taste like very cheap store-bought tortilla chips now. If you read this Freebirds, please bring back the original chips. I haven't met anyone that prefers these new...
