We had a great experience with Rics team doing our full kitchen remodel/ removal of a load bearing wall/and installation of a beam to open up the kitchen to the living room.
The high points were: Frequent communication. Ric always explained the process of the work. Adhering to the building code was always at the front of of the design process. A friendly and courteous onsite staff. They have most if not all of the materials in storage weeks before using them so the work timeline was realistic.
After our first meeting with Ric and Cindy we didnt bother to shop around - our gut insticinct was right. In addition to that they are Diamond Certified which is a high mark in the bay area.
They finished the job in 30 days and only had to come back to replace a small panel that was the wrong color about a week later. Everyone told me that remodels involve extra money, but this one came in under the original quote because they found materials cheaper.
The work was completed in December 2019. So far we have had 1.5 years of 2 toddlers and quarantine in the house, and the kitchen is doing great. Money well spent! The only downside is that after they finish your kitchen you may not want to move out of your house.
I highly recommend Rics...
Read moreSome hits, some miss on our kitchen remodel experience with Rick’s. The initial tear-out of the old kitchen was lightning fast. The cabinet installers and finish carpenters were very good. The tile person was EXCELLENT, perhaps the best of the bunch. But my head-scratcher, now that the project is all buttoned up, is why no one thought to suggest to upgrade from existing 60 year old galvanized pipes to copper. I didn’t know better, but I think if, at the time, they would have pitched it to me I would have said “Sure! What’s a little extra money now?” So now, of course, there is a leak behind my beautiful kitchen Sheetrock walls, which will have to be torn up to do repairs. In retrospect, I suggest Rick’s for the construction and design, an electrician for electrical, and a plumber for plumbing. Just because they claim they can do it all doesn’t mean that they excel at...
Read moreWe hate our 28k bathroom. He used the cheapest materials and it was not a pleasant experience. He also used inexperienced people to do the work. He claims his people have been with him for 20years but the workmen he sent to my house certainly had not been working for him that long. A lot of the work the inexperienced men did had to be redone by one of his regulars and they were angry having to do it. The rudest people I have ever dealt with. I urge anyone looking to get a kitchen or bath remodel to get someone else to do the job. I regret ever having him involved...
