I want to preface this review with stating - I will never come back here again. I booked an appointment for dip same day. I waited around 15 minutes to be seen - no problem I wasn’t in any rush and they were busy so I understood. The nail tech Diana was great, she was accommodating and worked with me to get the design I wanted as I wasn’t sure when I walked in what I wanted exactly. Great experience with her. She was friendly, efficient and overall a pleasure. She’s the reason I do not give a lower review. If you’re going for a relaxing experience to unwind and get pampered DO NOT COME HERE. They pack you in like sardines with rows of booths where you have to walk in between people getting serviced. It was rowdy and loud imagine a school cafeteria ambience. The worst part it was all coming from the staff. This girl who worked there shouted at another coworker (who looked to be of Asian descent) “don’t you eat cats?” Or something to that effect when he was talking about dumpster cats (for whatever reason) and he responded with “that’s racist”. What kind of an ambience is that? However, despite the above which I could’ve easily overlooked as I understand joking with coworkers, the worst part and the reason I will NEVER return was the brow service I received - if you can even call it that. I understand as a business you want to make money but if you do not have the appropriate staff to do so DO NOT OFFER THE SERVICE. I stupidly made the mistake of getting a brow waxing and tinting at this place. The woman who did my brows was Ana. She had no idea what she was doing and it was painfully obvious. The shape of my brows is terrible and the tinting horrendous. I was so embarrassed leaving and having people look at me. I have attached a photo just because I don’t want anyone else to make this same mistake. Go somewhere else for your brows. I had to clean them up MYSELF - like literally she gave me a QTip and a mirror because she knew the shape was awful. Had I not done so I would’ve walked out with C-shaped brows which is what she gave me. The tint color is black - I have brown hair. She never once asked me what I wanted for the shape or what I prefer. She told me to leave the tint on for an hour or two - which fine I get it as the longer I keep the tint on the longer it will last but it just felt very unprofessional. Get a better tint to do brows in the salon that doesn’t require your customers to then go home and remove. The kicker is all the while I’m getting my brows done I’m realizing - I don’t see her wearing gloves (I hope she washed her hands), I don’t see or smell any alcohol to sanitize my skin or the tweezers she used ( I really hope this was done). I’m not saying it couldn’t have been done beforehand but it just doesn’t feel very sanitary - you know? Especially when I realize that I didn’t have alcohol put on my nails either before they dipped them into the container of dip color (they didn’t portion out what I was going to use in a separate container meaning they are dipping other peoples nails in the jar and if they’re not using alcohol on your nails this is incredibly unsanitary - I hope I don’t develop any fungus) This was my first and last visit. I will never return or recommend this place to anyone. Even with nail techs like Diana this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had going to a salon.

I won’t sit here and bash the establishment because this may not be a reflection of the salon in its entirety. However ,I will respectfully say I have never been to a nail salon that preformed such horrible quality nails. At least this specific tech had no idea what she was doing and I hope the salon can take this an opportunity for a teaching moment. I went into the salon over the weekend for my birthday nails. The first photo is what I showed the tech. I then picked out all the nudes to match the picture and was unsuccessful because they were out of 3/5 of the colors. I compromised and two nails on each hand had the same color. Ive included the pictures of the finished product and as you can see 1.They are not matte 2.The line work is extremely Sloppy and rushed. The design is not consistent and there’s spots where the tech did not even apply the polish. As seen below. The tech rushed the entire process and it shows ,she was not assisting or making suggestions just quiet. Even when I pointed out one of the colors is not visible she did not bother to fix it. I left the salon so upset because I was really hoping to have some pretty nails before my birthday and left so disappointed. I almost went home and dealt with it,I am not one to complain but I felt I spent all of this money ($150 for mani/pedi) I just wanted nice nails for my birthday. I spoke to the manager and she rescheduled me for a fix. I came to the salon on Monday right after work only to be greeted by the same tech who messed up my nails before.I have no idea why they would do that? I asked her to keep it simple and I wanted to just do black French tips. The tech proceeds to paint OVER the already finished work. She did not file at all or remove the old work, she literally painted over it and it’s very obvious by how bulky and uneven they are. Once again, the line work is extremely rushed and sloppy/uneven and not complete. There’s even dried gel dripping from some of my nails and mistakes. I went in at 6:30 and she was finished by 6:50. At this point I’ve accepted I won’t be leaving happy from this place so I just left. This experience was extremely disappointing and upsetting. I just wish my business was taken seriously. Not a good first impression. It’s the next day and all the polish is peeling off. I’ve included pictures. The salon and the owner both blocked me on Instagram because of my review. I was never rude or nasty just critical because I spent so much money and was not happy. This place does not care about you all they care about is getting the next person in. Absolutely insane!

I had THE WORST EXPERIENCE at SoDo Nail and Lash and will absolutely NOT be returning. I’ve purposefully waited to write this review in hopes that the owner or manager, RICKY, would reach out to address what happened, but unsurprisingly, no one did. My issue centers around a tech named NATHAN, and how RICKY handled the situation. From the moment Nathan approached me, his ATTITUDE was TERRIBLE. I asked for warmer water, and he responded with sarcasm. Then, while pushing back my cuticles, he hurt my foot. I calmly let him know it was okay and explained that my foot is sensitive—but instead of showing any concern or professionalism, he abruptly asked, “Do you want someone else to do your pedicure?” That response alone was completely UNNECESSARY and DISMISSIVE. I tried to keep the experience positive, but his vibe was clearly off. When I told him he didn’t have to continue if he didn’t want to, his response was, “Likewise.” At this point, it was clear that he had NO INTEREST in providing a relaxing or professional service. I attempted to speak to RICKY TWICE. The first time, he walked away before I could explain. The second time, he finally asked what happened. I gave a calm, detailed account of the experience, which my cousin that I was there with confirmed. Heidi, who was doing my cousin’s pedicure, witnessed everything. Instead of apologizing or offering any accountability, RICKY said he’d have to check the audio and cameras!?! That shocked me. With a clear explanation, confirmation from another customer, and a staff witness, he still felt the need to “verify.” There was ZERO APOLOGY, ZERO CONCERN, and absolutely NO EFFORT to correct what had happened. The LACK of customer care and the DISMISSIVE ATTITUDE from both NATHAN and RICKY was appalling. I travel from out of town to visit this salon, but after this experience, I will NEVER RETURN. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING, and unfortunately, SoDo has none. If your staff can’t offer a courteous, professional experience, especially in a setting that’s supposed to be relaxing—then you’ve FAILED your customers. I hope BOTH of you take this as an opportunity to REFLECT and IMPROVE, but you won’t be getting another chance from me. *Thank you VAN and HEIDI for your kindness and professionalism.

The management team need to learn how to provide proper customer service, as well as, learn to listen to a customer concern and appropriately handle issues. Prior to today, I had no issues or complaints. I have seen Christine multiple times and she is excellent. My issue is not with Christine, but with her management team and how they handle my appointment that i had made in person and then via phone 20 minutes after my initial appointment on 02/11/2020. I went into the store on 2/10/2011 to schedule an appointment with Christine an was told it was her day off. I said no problem, i will schedule with her for tomorrow at 12:30 pm. The female manager booked my appointment in the system and I left the store. I called the store back at 1:18 pm (kept my phone log that showed the date and time i called) to reschedule on 02/10/2020 to change my appointment to a latter time on 02/11/2020. The female associate that I was speaking with acknowledged my correct appointment time for 02/11/2020 to be 3:00 pm. I arrived for my appointment on 02/11/2020 at 2:45 pm and explained to the male associate that I had an appointment and that i booked the appointment yesterday. He called over the female manager who booked my appointment the prior day and she started off by telling me that i missed my appointment and 12:30 pm and Christine was waiting for me. I explained to her I called yesterday and changed the time right after i left the store. I asked why didn't the female associate i spoke to yesterday make the changes as she stated she would. The female manager implied that it could have been an error. Not once did she apologize for her employee mistake, but made it appear that it was my fault. She said Christine is booked and i can come tomorrow. I said no, i can not come tomorrow. I showed her my phone log where i called the store yesterday and she stated"I don't need to see that, I didn't say i did not believe you". What the female manager failed to say or do was to deescalate the situation an accommodate me since i was not at fault. The female manager created a hostile environment what her attitude and not wanting to say her associate made a mistake, instead she blamed me and acted as if it was a big deal for me to see Christine. I am very unhappy about how i was treated and not once did anyone from the management team listen or apologize for the mistake that was made by their associate. I would never do business with SoDo Nails and I will inform as many people i know in the area to never step foot into SoDo Nails, because they are...
