Fresh Kitchen — Restaurant in Orlando

I never post a bad review but this was the worst experience I've ever had there and I usually love this place and have recommended it to other people even and I really don't even want to return after today.

I had two 6 bowls and was actually getting food for someone who had just had a long day and it was their birthday so this was just extra disappointing.

It started off with a girl serving the noodles and there was a bunch of spinach still on her tongs, so it went on a bowl ordered without spinach. Whatever not that bad.

We'd ordered one bowl with double citrus chicken and one with double almond chicken, which they were out of. She put one scoop of citrus chicken on both. This I guess was really confusing to them.

Their solution was that they leave it that way and they just get me a thing of almond chicken when it came out. Because that way I would technically get what I paid for. Wow. I said I wanted sauce on top but also some on the side, which I know they sell. This was really confusing to them too?

I had my bag that gives me a discount and the cashier forgot to give that to me too.

When I got home, I noticed they didn't even fully close the bowl on the bottom, the lid was just sitting on top of it, and it had spilled a little. Lol.

I scraped the citrus chicken off my bowl onto his bowl and cleaned up my to go bag and now I'm angry ranting on Google because I could almost cry and I feel awful that now I feel bad and had to apologize when I wanted to do something nice for someone on their birthday.

I wish I had stood up for myself in that moment, but everything seemed to confuse them, and I also didn't feel like fighting with the staff who needed to make sure I didn't get more chicken than I paid for, and at this point I just wanted to go home.

I hope management sees this because I have always loved Fresh Kitchen but that experience makes me not...

Let me start out with this… my bowl was delicious! It was my first time and I’ll probably be returning. But here is the main reason for the 1-star. This place seems to be focused on nutrition but you have zero access to nutrition facts or an ingredient list. They show which things are vegan or free of gluten, etc. but I’m on a diet and it would’ve been so helpful to have either nutritional info or a list of ingredients online or in-store. I’m not sure what I consumed (added sugars, carbs, I ingredients my body may not react well towards, etc.)

Second and aside from that, this restaurant is an “almost great” place. It’s got trendy chic vibes but it misses on hitting a lot of things “just right”. The interior materials look cheap, the logo’s letters are too small and/or are spaced too far from each other, the inside of the building is way too cold, it’s almost like trendy chic on a budget. You can tell they tried, but couldn’t “sweat the details”. Also it was very odd to see “pharma reps please use us to cater” on the bottom of the receipts. Very tacky and unprofessional and it doesn’t fit the “fresh kitchen” vibes… just very off.

Anyways I could look past a lot of that and would have given it 4 stars because the food is delicious but the lack of nutritional facts and ingredients list really did it for me to put 1-star. I’ll change my review to 4 or 5 stars if...

Fresh Kitchen is hands down the absolute best chain known to man. I started traveling to Orlando 3 years ago for work. I was working with a nutritionist and looking to be able to grab food while working that was both nutritious and decision - all while being gluten intolerant. When I was introduced to Fresh Kitchen, my life was forever changed.

When I am in town for work, I eat FK for lunch and dinner EVERYDAY. The food options allow for me to stay within my dietary restrictions without sacrificing flavor....gluten free, hormone free, and they don't use refined sugar.

The customer service is always 10/10. I am convinced that the food is so god because their employees always seem happy to serve and work together. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Alanna. She took time to help me find the best options to get the best bang for my buck. I love that when you dine in, someone from the staff will come by to make sure that everything is good. After sitting down, Alanna stopped by our table to say hello and mention that she remembered myself and a coworker from the other day. She thanked us for coming back and offered us some cookies.

My only complaint with FK is that it is only in Florida. How am I supposed to convince my boyfriend that we need to pack up our lives in the Midwest to move to Florida so that I am buy a catering order every week to feed us?...
