Sophie’s Event Wear & More — Attraction in Valdosta

Extremely poor customer service Highly recommend against this place, I went in and explained I needed a chiffon black floorlength dress for a wedding. I was misled to a dress that was nowhere near chiffon because I didn’t even know what I was looking for and was assured this was very close and you wouldn’t be able to tell a difference. The same day approximately four hours later, I called back and explained that I had sent it to my friend. That was the bride and it wouldn’t do. It had been maybe four hours or less since I purchased the dress. I explained I really needed to return the dress and she said they don’t do returns because risk of people returning dresses after they’ve been worn but this was within four hours of purchasing it. She explained I could exchange it but I have no need for any other formal dress and they had nothing else in my size, that would be even close to what I need for the wedding. They claim they had no return policy signed posted but I did not see any. I got very upset because I had just wasted $130 which may not be a lot to some people but I don’t want to throw $100 or more drain, which is what has happened And explain how upset I was and that I do not feel like this is the right way to run a small business and I understand about the no returns due to risk of items being worn, but I had literally purchased it a few hours ago of frustration. I did use foul language during the conversation I was told I needed to go to a bridal shop to get a bridesmaids dress and I was wrong for going there for a bridesmaid dress The owner was extremely condescending and so was the worker I spoke with. My fav experience was definetly this past prom! I came to Sophie’s probably 2-3 times in week for a month straight because I was so indecisive about the dress I wanted. We would joke about how much I was in there and if I had found a dress or not yet. The employees ALWAYS made me feel so pretty, and hyped me up. My fav employee would probably be the owner (I don’t remember her name) she was always so sweet and would tell me if the dress I was trying on was one that a bunch of other girls had already purchased because I didn’t want have the same dress as anyone!😁 I also LOVED the guy that was working in there. (also do not remember his name) he was always so funny and outgoing and made you feel right at home in the store! I always love shopping at Sophie’s I get every event outfit from here and all my dresses I have purchased are amazing quality and unique! I bought my homecoming, prom, hoco court, hoco parade, and two dresses from here for my senior pics! ALL of them I have gotten compliments on! I still have the slippers I purchased and they are just as comfortable now as the day I got them and I wear them...
