One of the reasons we choose The Stanford Guest House was because of the shuttle bus. We were navigating the medical system and it was our 1st time at Stanford. Our 1st disappointment was the bus was not running because of "staffing issues". Our Second disappointment; It was difficult to sleep because the air conditioner made a constant scrapping noise that sounded like someone was shoveling gravel. Plus, the room across from us had a door that slammed every time it closed and it kept waking us up. 3rd: the vending machines were broken, so no snacks. Also, the 24 hour "Pete's Coffee" turned out to be icky vending machine coffee. 4th: the "concierge service" turned out to be bored student staff. 5th; The rooms were cleaned every three days, we stayed for two days, so we had an overflowing trash can and one small bar of soap. 6th; We were told all rooms had handicap bars in the bathroom. not true. My husband had to pull himself up off of the toilet by grabbing the door handle. He had to keep the bathroom door open to do this. All in all it felt like SGH was not very well managed. We vow to...

Read moreI was on Stanford campus for the Graduate School of Education leadership program and stayed for three nights. First of all the location was so convenient as I need to be checked in for my training at 8AM on campus and very easy driving distance since I have a rental car. But no need to have a car to stay there, on the weekend there is a free shuttle that can take and pick you up to campus anytime, just reserve it in advance. A complementary breakfast is included with 24/7 coffee/ tea machine available on the first floor. The breakfast has varieties of pastries, juices, fresh fruits, cold/hot cereals to choose plus boiled eggs. All day long if you want a quick snack, there are bakery stuff there to get a bit like blueberry scones etc. Also, you will free very safe since there is a security guard at the gate to let you into the compound. There are hot/cold water available 24/7 and the 3rd floor has laundry machines that we actually used to do our laundry before leaving. The staffs were all friendly and the manager was so helpful!!! One cannot ask for a better stay than this...
