Starbucks — Restaurant in Menlo Park

I would give this place a 1 and a half stars but since I'm a pretty nice guy, without boasting my image, I'm giving it two stars. I stayed there for a while to do some work on my laptop. I was like every other customer, not making a disturbance, being respectful of the space, and even ordering a drink and a piece of the cake (It was the lemon iced one), even though it isn't required to be in the store. So everything is going well until a bit after I got my food and drink. The assistant supervisor / manager who I won't say his name came over to me. He was a pretty nice guy but told me that I was making some people in the store uncomfortable (both employees and customers). I'm 100% sure I didn't say a word to anybody in the store, except when I was ordering. Even then, I was being respectful to the person taking my order, who was a young girl, prob college - late highschool. He encouraged me to stay and still enjoy my time but in all honesty, I started to feel uncomfortable and so I left. If you get bothered because I'm sitting in one spot and minding my own business, then just imagine how I felt when I was told I was making them uncomfortable. I promise, the man who came and sat down with me (assistant manager / supervisor) offered me a free drink, next time I came in, but I declined his offer since I don't feel comfortable going back there and prob won't go back there. I don't know if it was my race (I'm an Arab) or something else that made them uncomfortable, but whatever it was didn't make sense and I didn't have it explained who I was making uncomfortable or how I was making them uncomfortable. The food and drink were up to standards but still, ten bucks for a drink and slice of cake was unreasonable, at least in my opinion. I would try to avoid this place to be honest. ordered a travel box everyday for five days in a row. the third day, the box was just filled with brown colored transparent water, less dark than black tea. they refunded but was a bummer to show up at a meeting with brown water.

next day the box took an hour for them to prepare. much more than the same amount of coffee served to bunch of customers but they kept forgetting to fill the box. I ordered 30 minutes advance of my hoped pickup time. ended up waiting another 30 minutes in the store and had to remind them a few times.

they refunded me for 1 while preparing coffee for 2. so I expected a little bit of discipline to do a better job to make up for the mistake, but it was just a bad experience throughout.

Nothing particularly notable about this location. It was quiet and roomy with several seating tables. I ordered an Iced Peach Green Tea with light ice with a warmed chocolate chip cookie. the ice wasn't really light, but the drink was pretty good. The staff were okay. They seemed a little bit stand-off-ish, but I think it was just because it was nearing the end of their day on a Sunday evening. They did get busy for a good hour with people going in and out for mobile orders or to-go orders. The seating inside the location was full. I had to wait 10-15 minutes for a table to open up. It seems that they do have quite a bit of people coming in to do some work.

The only complaint I have is that the bathroom didn't look quite clean, but again, I also came in about 3-4 hours before they closed. It was definitely more towards the end of the day for...
