Yiftee provides a great platform that supports and helps increase awareness of small businesses. Through this platform, the Town of Cutler Bay was able to create a program—Cutler Bay Cash—where $500 gift cards were distributed to qualifying residents that were impacted by the pandemic to spend at small businesses within Cutler Bay. It was only through this program that we were able to successfully and easily distribute the funds and ensure they went to only the qualifying small businesses. What does that mean? suppose someone buys a gift card any day of December, but the person receiving the gift card decides not to activate the gift card until some time in January, we would only receive the payment for the gift card on the 5th day of February. you are essentially lending them money for free!! If the customer never activates the card, it's free money for them! That's absolute THEFT!

With our Yiftee program merchants pay nothing but their normal credit processing fees for manual entry. Like if you were at a restaurant and your bank debit card's strip/chip didn't work and they had to manually enter your card number. I had no problem paying a small service fee (just like when you buy event or concert tickets through a service like EventBrite or TicketMaster or the ease of paying utility bills online) because I know the gift cards can only be used at local businesses.
