I am writing this review to bring to your attention the absolutely appalling behavior of one of your assistant managers, Emma towards me on Monday, 4/3/23. My husband and I visited your greenhouse the previous day and were thoroughly impressed with the selection of plants and the friendly staff. Lisa, one of your employees, was incredibly helpful and pleasant in explaining the re-potting services you offer, gave us suggestions and literature on my plants, and told us about all the great events you all have here. So I had planned to bring in a few of my plants the following day and was excited to return. However, upon arriving at your store, I was met with hostility and aggression from the assistant manager, Emma who is in charge of the re-potting area. She screamed at me, telling me she didn't have time or space to re-pot my plants and that the information Lisa had given me was incorrect. When I tried to diffuse the situation by acknowledging her stress, she got in my face in a threatening manner and continued to scream at me. I was so shocked and shaken that I began to cry. This was a verbal assault! Thankfully, two of your other employees, Blue and John, were absolute angels and went above and beyond to support me. They helped me bring my plants in from the car, walked me to the re-potting area, and even offered to re-pot my plants themselves in another area outside that they worked in. Blue was exceptionally kind and empathetic, even offering to stay by my side to protect me from the assistant manager. She hugged me and wrote down the information for my plants, so I wouldn't have to in my distressed state. When I spoke to the manager about what happened, she was apologetic and offered to re-pot my plants for free. She also gave me a gift card to apologize for my bad experience. However, I am deeply disturbed by the fact that an assistant manager at your store could treat a customer in such a hostile manner. This is especially concerning given the comments made by your other employees, who noted that this behavior is consistent with her attitude and demeanor towards both staff and customers. I am nervous and anxious about returning to your store to pick up my plants and potentially having to deal with this assistant manager again. No customer should ever have to experience such unacceptable behavior. I urge you to take immediate action to address this situation and ensure that your customers are never subjected to this kind of...

I have been a devoted customer for many years. This is my first negative review I have ever written. This Week I had placed an online order and was called to be sure about the order Pete (very nice)told me he would fill my order I could pick up later that day. I went to pickup the order it was at the curb -my name was on the receipt. I loaded in back of car on my way. So I ordered something else and I went over expecting it to be at the curb as it was the day before. I did see my order in front of store but I did not have a mask(thought it would be at curb) it was not at curb, but I was admonished sternly by store employee that they were social distancing and the their customers were very concerned (she herself not wearing a mask). I felt embarrassed and I too was concerned but had not been able to find or purchase a mask.A friend was making one.I loaded my car no offer to help but I can do it myself. So at beginning of week I had placed a online order with my zip code and paid for it online. No where did it state that if one orders online that it is shipped from Meadow Farms Corporate. It also shows inventory at each store so one would think that by entering one’s zip code it would come from closest store. I appreciate the online effort perhaps before launching this new process it would have served you well to be sure it was working. We are all stressed and whenever I spoke with anyone it was with kindness, being courteous and respectful at all times. We are all in this together if we could work on kindness at all times and try not to be rude, and be conscious of how one comes across it would go a very long way. It is a shame this happened but I assure you it will not happen again not that they will miss my business. Oh and after I shared my concern I was told to go and shop more garden plants had come in and they wanted me to leave happy. A simple “we are sorry”or “thank you for your business”was all it...

A note of appreciation to Great Big Green House employee "Nar" - for his help a couple weeks ago in directing me to the right section of the greenhouse - was looking for a plant for a indoor plant for a customer.

Nar is a longtime employee there at the greenhouse and is always 100%+ helpful - - - no matter the task & will go out of his way to help any customer - anyway he can !

Just love going to the Great Big Green House - always a wonderful selection of plants & gifts. Always find the staff knowledgable and friendly. If a staff member is not familiar with a customers question or situation - they are quick to find someone who is. During my last visit - I witnessed one of their "plant doctors" - Doug - immediately diagonoise what killed a customers plant that they had brought in - it was amazing to watch.

There are experts on indoor as well as outdoor plants - they have a pharmacy full of items to help your plants grow & keep the bugs, varmints & deer away. Angela is one of the best "pharmacist" there - always knows the answers to your chemical needs. The bulb & seed lady - Bonnie - is very knowledgeable & happy to answer any question you could possibly have. I visit there so often - I know most of the staff by name - Bill, Regina, Rick, Nick, Abigail, Sean, Amanda, Cathy & Cathy, Betsy, Carter & Eve are just a few that I find amazingly...

I visited for the first time today upon the recommendation of a colleague. While the plants were beautiful, the abysmal customer service made it such that I will never return. First, a couple of individuals who appeared to work at the establishment never even acknowledged my presence as I walked around. A simple “hello” or other similar greeting can go a long way. Second, I’m new to the plant world and the nursery is pretty intimidating. Signage explaining what the various plants were was sorely lacking. Finally, after walking around for a bit, I asked an employee where I could find/if she could recommend indoor plants that were cat-friendly. I didn’t think that was an unusual request. She apparently wasn’t in the mood to be helpful - she basically told me to check the ASPCA website and then find those plants; couldn’t direct me to them, but as I walked away, she told me to stay away from plants that looked more like “grass.” I thanked her, left the establishment, and went to another nursery a few miles away (where I had a completely different, far superior experience). If you have plant knowledge and require little assistance, this is the place for you. If you need guidance, I’d suggest you go elsewhere.

Rating is from the houseplant shopping perspective. I am a houseplant collector. I like to come here and wander and see things that are on my wishlist in person. They often have an decent assortment of orchids. Some interesting philodendrons. All of the large settled plants are quite beautiful. They don't have a great selection of uncommon plants, which is what I go to hunt for. But. And this is a big but. The houseplants are absolutely overrun with mealybugs. You can see them on many many many plants. And even if you don't see them- trust me, they're there. Last time I went in, I saw them all over the fiddle leafs, orchids, hoyas, and staghorn ferns. I went in for the hoya sale and I bought one with no visible bugs and it is going to be in quarantine for quite a while- especially now two weeks later with the first mealybug sighting. Another con though not as bad, the prices are far from competitive. You can get lucky, but if you're in it for houseplants, you're likely to get a better deal and less bugs anywhere else. I've purchased plants from here a half dozen times, and I'm sure I will again, but be aware of what you're getting into if you decide to buy too!!

If you have a penchant for plants or anything else plant or landscape-related, then you must experience this impressive place. It sells annuals and perennials of all sorts, of course, but offers so much more!! You will find trees, including citrus, shrubs, herbs, palms of so many types, ferns, bonsai, cacti/succulents, orchids, birds of paradise and other tropicals, herbs, vines, berry plants and shrubs, a native plant section, a bee/hummingbird plant section, pond plants, lilies, thousands of pots of all colors and sizes, bird baths, soil, mulch and fertilizers, seeds, garden implements, hydroponic supplies, hardscaping material and much, much more. It's an amazing place inside and out. The plants are healthy and vital, and the prices are competitive. There are cash registers inside and out, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.
