The customer service is terrible. Even when news stories floated about the cleanliness and things that employees did to the product, we tried to continue to frequent and support the local business. But today we will stop. The donuts are OK but definitely not the best local donuts and the servers are rude and do not respect client loyalty. I must wonder if the owner knows what is going on there.

UPDATE: I am not sure who the 'owner' below is. I never spoke to the owner....and I only spoke to one person during an attempt to place an order. I think they have me confused with another dissatisfied customer. I was trying to support a local business (Sugar Shack) and send treats to the staff and caregivers of a local nursing home/long term care facility. I was having a really difficult time placing an order. I recieved a FB message telling me to call the shop if I needed to pre-order. When calling the shop, I kept getting voicemail only and it said that the box was full no message allowed. When I finally got through, I was told it had to be done on the webpage if pre-ordering. I told the clerk I tried, but the web page was telling me I could not pick a future day and that I had received a message from their FB saying I had to call the store to pre-order. The clerk asked me if I wanted to speak to the owner (Evan). I told her no and while I don't think I was rude, I was frustrated because, frankly, it's just DONUTS and the process had taken up way too much time already. I did get a great suggestion from someone at Sugar Shack though. They said to try one of the other local donut shop --- I took the advise and in one call and no webpage hassles or errors codes, I got the 4 dozen donuts at the Donut Company on Midlothian Tpk. I ordered these donuts a year ago to be picked up to treat my team at work. I showed up at the time designated to pickup and the people at the counter pulled off 6 tickets from the order printer and said they would get started on it for me. I ordered it for a certain time so I could run another errand and make it to work on time. I didn’t have time to wait so I had to go. I did not get any food and I was not refunded any money. A year later my team got team of the month ,last week, so I decided to give them another chance. I ordered two dozen donuts and picked the option to surprise me the night before I needed them. I was getting ready for work and got a message that my order had been canceled as they could not fill my order for any completely random assortment of donuts. I called them twice over the next hour since I promised my team at work donuts that morning and to make sure they would know i would literally take any donuts they had. I didn’t need a special order. The phone went to voicemail both times. Thankfully i had time to order Dunkin. I do not love donuts from Dunkin’ but I had to order them since I couldn’t get them from Sugar Shack.

Update** Sugar Shack got back to me on the review and apologized for me not getting any food when I ordered and offered to make it right. I updated my review to reflect that the ambience and the food there are good and I appreciate them getting back to me. I don’t think there’s much else a business can do but apologize and try and make it right after making an error. I will order again and update the review if I am able to get...
